WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Pentagon has decided that military chaplains may perform same-sex unions, whether on or off a military installation.

The ruling announced Friday by the Pentagon's personnel chief follows the Sept. 20 repeal of a law that had prohibited gays and lesbians from serving openly in the military.

so when do the gays get to pay the marriage penalty?....and when the draft comes, which it will, will gays be drafted?...or will claim Clinger status so they don't have to go to war....

Catholic and true Christian chaplains will NOT be able to "perform" these "marriages" and for that matter, no Muslims either....don't know about Mormons....but Jews won't be able either...

Gays in the military should be tested every 6 months for aids.

Not long until there are also gay bathhouses and glory holes all over the premises, I suppose.

I wonder where and how honorable Americans will serve their friends, family and communities when they are no longer willing, or not permitted, to serve in the US Military?

“May...” today, “will be required to...” 5 minutes after the first lawsuit.

How is this legal? I thought the Defense of Marriage Act would prevent this

Serve in the military? Hell, I won’t even say the Pledge of Allegiance anymore until things change.

It will be mandatory after the first THREAT of a lawsuit. In other words, almost immediately.

This is essentially going to eliminate from the service any Catholic or orthodox Christian (or Jew). They would be refusing to follow military regulations and would be out or in jail immediately.

But that was probably the plan all along.

We are now at Rome levels of debased society. Only thing missing is live murder in coliseums. But we do have the NFL, NHL, NBA and MLB to distract the masses.

Comments on this list

1) Remove those that use if for propoganda ie) Cuba, Venezuela, Russia. Take their claims just like their claims of having the lowest child mortality or best “health care” in the world. I will bet you $100 that Russia does not have openly homosexual soldiers mincing about the barracks.

2) Most of these countries that claim to allow Gays simply have a DADT type policy. They will say “Sure - Gays can serve, just don’t tell anyone.” Avoid our politically correct propoganda of the US Left, and compare apples to apples.

3) How many potential US enemies are on this list? ZERO.

4) As to much of the list - Ireland, Denmark, Sweden - these are countries who have turned their militaries into spineless political organizations and social experiments. The only wars they will be capable of fighting in the future will be agains their own, unarmed countrymen. NOT to be emulated.

I must admit, I didn’t see this coming. What a way to get around states’ rights.
