We can stay in our own yard and draw the line. We just need to draw that line firmly, with loaded magazines and clear Rules of Engagement.

There is no need for us to engage in yet another Mexican adventure on their turf. Our interest comes into play ONLY when they cross the line. So draw a firm line.

There are two parts of the cartels ~ the wholesalers ~ in Mexico, and the retailers ~ in the USA.

Open warfare against both would make sense.

People like Soros and a number of well-known Libertarians should also be held accountable for encouraging drug use.

We have an army of over 10 million people in the US who speak Spanish and who have personal experience in Mexico. I say we draft these people into an expeditionary army and send them over our southern border. Invade Mexico with a massive wave of people. Men, women, children -- I say we send them all to Mexico. Then build a wall so that they don't come back.

Couldn't hurt.

Sending US military personnel to help resolve a country’s internal problems is NOT a good idea and I do not think anything good will come of it ...

There may come a point in time when the narco’s take total control of Mexico, that we might be justified in sending troops to Mexico. Until then, we are far past the time that we should have put troops on our border.

This is insane. You would have the SAME situation in Mexico that we face in Afghanistan. You would NEVER be able to turn your back on a Mexicn soldier without wondering if a bullet was aimed at your back.
Rick Perry has just lost another ten points for me...not that he had that many in the first place. This shows an astounding lack of judgement.

Before you people wet your pants, read the article and the quote. I know reading takes time, but context is important.

Mr Perry said the current violence may require similar military action.

'The way that we were able to stop the drug cartels in Colombia was with a coordinated effort,' Mr Perry said.

'It may require our military in Mexico working in concert with them to kill these drug cartels and to keep them off of our border and to destroy their networks. 'I don’t know all the scenarios that are out there but I think it is very important that we work with them, to keep that country from failing.'

How about we legalize drugs for a while? More lives are being destroyed by our laws than by the drugs.

"Perry would help Mexico in concert with their military to fight" drug cartels? They ARE the drug cartels.

Perry's unbridled lust for presidential power is nauseating. Perry bombed in the debates, and now he will say anything to get back in the game...but Perry is a little too late---all of this has been happening right under his nose---and he did nothing to stop it.

He's done just the opposite---sucking up to Mexico like there was no tomorrow. PERRY (1) sucked-up to the Mexican govt, (2) insists on open borders, (3) passed the Texas Dream Act, (4) eased sub-prime mortgages for illegals, (5) lambasted US amnesty policy while on Mexican soil, and, (6) enticed illegals over the border with tax-subsidized giveaways.

==============================================

PERRY FAILED TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT THIS savage Mexican Zeta gangs expanding their growing drug empire inside the US, from Big D--Dallas.

DOES GOV PERRY KNOW HOW MANY Zeta drug kingpins and their cadres are attending Texas colleges w/ in-state tuition?

PERRY FAILED TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT THIS 200 armed incursions from Mexico over the border onto US soil in the last ten years.

PERRY FAILED TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT THIS Federal agents and US military were ordered to avoid all contact when Third World soldiers escorted Mexican drug cartel members across our borders.

GOV PERRY DID NOT STOP THIS Zeta gangs and Mexican drug cartels smuggling drugs, illegal aliens (? reconquista troops, ? terrorists bearing WMD?) over US borders.....aided and abetted by the Mexican govt.

===========================================

PERRY FAILED TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT THIS The Zetas ‘gulf Cartel, is a former "special forces unit" of the Mexican Army. The Zetas signature savagery is beheadings for those who d-a-r-e try to stop them. The Zetas have been in operation for years and years, and, thanks to all the US dollars they pocketed in Texas (legal and illegal), they have recently been recruiting openly in Mexico.

PERRY FAILED TO SPEAK OUT ABOUT THIS In the border city of Reynosa a banner reads, “Former soldiers sought to join armed group; good pay, $500,” “The Zetas operations group wants you, soldier or ex-soldier.”

It was US military support that helped Colombia get rid of the drug cartels, thanks to GW Bush. He revived this after Clinton had basically forced Colombia to cede a huge part of its territory to the leftist guerrillas and the drug cartels, which were mutually supportive.

I don’t think Mexico will go for it, though, because I don’t think they like or trust Obama... particularly after “Fast and Furious.”

>>....our military in Mexico working in concert with them<<<

Working IN CONCERT with them???? Is he serious?

If he thinks the Mexican Government and the Mexican Army aren’t part of the cartels, and that they are WANTING to stop the flow of drugs, then he is way more stupid than I gave him credit for.
