I do not understand all of this over the top hatred for Cain I have found on this site the last couple of days.

Didn't you know? Much of FR is SarahLand. The field must be kept clear for her much-anticipated, yet much-pondered campaign announcement.

I haven’t heard of any other “baggage” for Cain. We’ll see if this story matters.

I'm sure the "media" has been sitting on this in order to spring it at the right moment. I'd like to hear Cain's side of the story. One of the propagandist interrogators at a future GOP debate will likely spring it on him.

Another analysis of the Aquila down turn. H.Cain was NOT an executive - he was an ‘independent’ outsider - brought in to solve problems.

http://storify.com/karl173/the-truth-behind-aquila-and-herman-cain

excerpt:
The board of directors had separated itself into committees to oversee different aspects of the company early on. Herman Cain was the chairman of the compensation committee that oversaw pay and bonus’ for executives and other positions. The bonuses that he approved were in line for the time when the entire company was seeing high profits in the late 90’s. Bonus’s are based on the previous year performance. The financial problem with Aquila didn’t show up until mid 2001 during the recession.

I guess Cain is not their candidate, but their tactics against fellow FReepers

But it's OK to totally destroy and pile on Perry? As the long term governor of the great state of Texas I think he deserves a bit more respect than he got here. And, as a Perry supporter I had nothing but good things to say about Cain and was very happy for him when he won the Florida straw poll. The whole Sharpton thing is a turn off. I've had enough with the race politics.

Mother Jones, Salon, HuffPost, PaulBots and other assorted bloggers have been spitting this out since May. Seems to me if it had legs, it’d walked already, but we’ll see... as I mentioned in my earlier post, it’ll probably be thrown at him during a debate, especially now that Cain’s poll numbers have risen.

“BTW, FR was overwhelmingly for Romney at the same time Cain was for Romney, so I will not hold that against him.”

Huh? That is news to me, and likely to JimRob who zapped more than a few Romneybots and Rooty-Rooters.

Sarah Palin was not on the ballot.

There’s an undecided at 1.8%. Isn’t Palin undecided at this time?

The whole Sharpton thing is a turn off.

It's good that Sharpton is not your candidate. Stick with Perry.

Disregard it. It’s either trolls or Palin / Perry supporters who think the best way to pimp their candidate is to take the left’s lead and launch vicious lies and half-truths at him.

I have nothing against Palin or Perry but there is no reason to talk like this about other Republican candidates. As conservatives, we’re supposed to be better than that.

That was a Mother Jones article that came out in May? earlier this year - the reason you never heard about it is because it is a non-story.

Here are the facts:

Herman Cain was the chairman of the compensation committee that oversaw pay and bonus’ for executives and other positions. The bonuses that he approved were in line for the time when the entire company was seeing high profits in the late 90’s. Bonus’s are based on the previous year performance.

The financial problem with Aquila didn’t show up until mid 2001 during the recession. There was a Pension and Benefits committee and a retirement committee. Herman Cain was not on either one of those. Thus Cain didn’t come across the activity and paperwork to see what was going on with these committees.

The lawsuit that was filed named all sorts of people at the top even if they didn’t have basic oversight at issue with the lawsuit. Class action lawsuits tend to always do this. The MotherJones article author took a few general details and then made all sorts of claims that weren’t in the lawsuit they referenced. It is typical of liberal writers being lazy.

If Herman had been involved an ANY wrong doing, a) the SEC would have taken action; b) the company would have removed him; and/or c) Cain would have been made to pay a fine. none of these actions occurred. In fact, he was actually rewarded by later being appointed the presiding independent director of the board of directors.

Why would Cain give someone like Sharpton the time of day?

Two reasons:

1. Sharpton's stolen watch is busted and

2. perhaps Cain was just being civil.

Al Sharpton? You have got to be kidding.

Just for those who refuse to watch the Wallace interview for yourself, I wrote out what Herman Cain said:

Wallace: I want to ask you, there was a troubling story on the post today, about Rick Perry, The Governor of Texas and it indicates for years his family had a hunting camp in West Texas. And the name of it, written on a stone, was “N”- head, but obviously it wasn’t just “N” head.
Cain: Right
Wallace: And he was part of that camp, even as Governor. Your reaction.
Cain: My reaction is, that’s just very insenstive. There isn’t a more vile, negative word than the “N” word, and for him to leave it there as long as he did, before, I hear, they finally painted over it, it’s just plain insensitive to a lot of black people in this country.

Then the interview went on about 9-9-9

THIS is what you are trying you are trying to compare Cain to Al Sharpton? REALLY?? Have you all actually ever LISTENED to Al Sharpton? Cain is a man who doesn’t even use “African-American” because he feels he is an American first.

Some of you really need to get a grip on reality!

“I do not understand all of this over the top hatred for Cain I have found on this site the last couple of days. Now you have people calling him “race-baiter” and accusing him of being pro-homo, etc., because he answered a reporter’s question.”

When you’re the lead dog, all the other dogs nip at your heels.

Herman Cain is all substance. He is also brilliant.

He is the Left's worst nightmare: a billiant man, who is practical, understands business and economics, thinks and speaks clearly, sees through the Left's delusions and mendacity, has the wisdom of many years of experience, is well educated and articulate, is charming and attractive and--most dangerous of all!--is armed with the truth!

Christie and Perry are jokes.

Romney doesn't stand a chance against Cain. No career politician does.

Herman Cain is the irresistable, unstoppable product of grassroots America. He is the next President of the U.S.A.

HOWEVER A WORD OF WARNING: The situation is dangerous. The Left will stop at nothing! Cain's truth threatens the Leftist's delusions, and a threat to delusion is ALWAYS dangerous!

EXTREME CAUTION IS VERY, VERY IMPORTANT. THE LEFT IS DANGEROUS!

I’m not comparing Cain to Sharpton. I was questioning Cain’s judgment in choosing to do an interview with Sharpton. Why waste his time on sharpton’s show? Cain rose in the polls because conservatives tore Perry down (or vetted him as they call it). But when Cain is criticized or “vetted” you all are easily offended.
