Hank Williams, Jr., the voice famous for asking millions of football fans whether they’re ready for some football, has been pulled from tonight’s broadcast of “Monday Night Football” over a comment he made on Fox News this morning.

Williams, who sings the lead-in song to the game each week, criticized the president for his golf summit with House Speaker John Boehner this summer.

“It would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli leader) Benjamin Netanyahu,” Williams told “Fox & Friends.”

USA Today, among others, picked up the quote, speculating on whether the comparison would get Williams booted from the broadcast .

the left control the media, the left are organized much more than us about who and what they ant on the air.

Maybe it is time for us freepers and other sites to join up and send out mass mail to elected official and media outlets when we see them not covering such issues like obama with the black panthers in 07 or fast and furious, green energy scam companies etc

But those are good examples of why I don’t like singers and actors shooting their mouths off about politics...even if I might agree with them.

with some people, the harder you try to bang 'em into a round hole, the squarer they become.

Really shouldn’t be comparing The Won to Hitler.

Hitler didn’t need a teleprompter.

THAT needs to be posted at ESPN.

Comments to ESPN:

Here’s mine:

Hank Williams has his opinion, and it just happens to be based on facts, at least when it comes to wanting to control the individual lives of citizens. Didn’t Obama say his base needs “to go to war” with conservatives?

He’s a self-admitted socialist. Here is a clue: NAZI is short for “National Socialists”.

And just look at who he has surrounded himself with: A bunch of radical socialists, including real terrorists who murdered law enforcement officers and preach violence against the United States.

Entertainers who engage in political commentary must be willing to deal with the consequences.

So must a network that bows to PC. We've watched out last MNF game.

It wasn’t a good analogy but it doesn’t matter. ESPN’s Monday night games are terrible. Worst decision ever was giving ESPN the right to broadcast football games.

I seem to recall recent comments by Mr. San Francisco, that were WAYYY out of line about the TEA party and conservatives. Think they will ban the playing of “I left my heart”? From promos about a SF v whomever game?

So I am going to be consistent here. If the Dixhole Chicks had said something equivalent (wait, what, they did?) I would have been eager to see them catch whatever heck they deserved from whichever sponsoring private enterprise had pulled their proverbial plug. Because in the end, free speech is about freedom from government limitations of speech.

Now, the only thing that is utterly, obviously different here is how incredibly quickly DisneyABCESPN pulled said plug. Yeah, that would have happened on the same day back in 2005. Riiiiiiiight.

Since ESPN has gone Clymer over this, Fox should have him on a regular basis as a Fox News Contributor.
