I don’t find her announcement mode strange at all.

There is an old notion that people should give important news directly to those who have a real interest in the news. Millions of people who have hoped Palin would run will now hear the news in all sorts of ways: from smart assed Palin haters in all sorts of smart assed ways, and with no notice at all, and on and on.

No, this news should have been given with some notice so that those who have invested time and hope and money in Palin could have heard it directly from her.

This is reason number 1798 on why I will not donate to politicians...she strung along her followers for months and months, all the while accepting donations to her various PACs and books...then dumps out at the end while living high off the hog.

I thought she loved America ? i feel sick to my stomach. She owes those of us who bought her books and supported her financially a explaination and an apology.

Why does she owe anyone an apology? I have not heard one thing from Palin leading me to believe she is running for president. I've heard people asking her to run and the usual "heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend" stuff from cryptic blogs, but nothing from Palin until now.

The only ones she owes is family. What she owes people who bought her books is a book. What she owes people who donate to her PAC is good endorsements. That's it.

I find it quite distressing how some of Palin’s biggest fans turned on her in an instant.

That type of “support” would not have bode well for her presidency, had she run and won.

Candidates seem to be cycling through. First Bachmann seemed strong, then Perry, now Cain. The timing might be good for Santorum as hopefully he'll be the default guy if something happens to Cain. Besides, he's untouched by the media so far. But we could do much worse than Cain.

The Romney folks won't change. The rest of us will go with whichever conservative seems to have the best chance of taking the nomination away from him. Doesn't have to be any particular conservative, just has to be a conservative.

Ann Coulter (big Christie supporter) went to Romney.

Honestly, I have to wonder if she was waiting for that sleaze’s book to come out. I think that alone made her decision

Honestly, I have to wonder is she was waiting for Wal-Mart's release of the Going Rouge/The Undefeated combo pack yesterday. That's my cynical side speaking, though.

All I can say is no conservative=no vote from me.

I will not vote for Romney,Gingrich,McCain or any other RINOS, ever.

No, I won’t stay home, just leave the presidential space blank or write in a candidate of my choice.

I am simply amazed and saddened at how hateful fellow freepers can be to one another when a candidate is being discussed.

Very disappointed.

Now, can we end this tomfoolery and work on beating Romney first, and then Obama?

Finally, the answer can be, "Yes." And hopefully get grounded in reality and follow the Buckley Rule - support the most conservative candidate who can win.

I think a lot of conservatives thought she was not running but didn’t say so in order to get her message out. However, it is time to fish or cut bait. This depresses me but considering the unprecedented filth being thrown at her, it is the best decision for her personally.

I don’t see anyone who has a chance and, at the same time, attracts my interest. Cain sounds good but hasn’t been tested like the others. What happens when the MSM savages him as they surely will. Perry folded as did Bauchman (sp?).

Cain won’t pick her, but one person I think may be very strong in the running for his VP would be Allen West. The ticket would be balanced with Economic/Foreign Policy and West has inside the Beltway knowledge of how the system works to help the outsider Cain. Not to mention that would be an awesome ticket.

Or you can throw your support to Generic Republican, who just announced yesterday he was running:

The reason she isn’t running has nothing to do with anyone of FR. She didn’t plan on running. She never sat up the ability to do so.

She sorta fooled ya. Don’t blame anyone else.

Feel sorry for the guy here who just bought five copies of The Undefeated.

She owes those of us who

Oh, please. You paid for a book, you received a book. If you gave donations, you did so of your own free will with no promise of anything in return. Grow up.

Well I voted for Romney in ‘08 (when it came down to Romney, Huckster or McCain). I think this will help Cain.
