Why did she have us wait?

Ah, I can see the multitude of threads on FR postulating all manner of answers to just this question. I fear the truth might not be a favorite of her supporters.

Not a single bit!!!....I don't think I'm alone here at FR when I post my frustration, extreme disappointment, sadness, and level of defeat by this announcement.

I know better to put my hope in mere men or women.....but this woman sure fooled me.

I feel like we were led on.....and I dont know why.

I also don't think she will have one whit of 'power' to influence any election, candidate, or the Presidency.

I guess she's done.

It must be obvious I'm just plain mad!

I don’t think they like each other. But politics makes strange bedfellows.

I agree. I think it is time to raise some Cain. It will be interesting to see who Palin endorses.

My Thoughts exactly.

In a way she is a hypocrite.

She encourages people to run and then when it was her time she backed out.

I am very disappointed she won’t be running.

I am all for Cain, gaffes and all, his experience is more valuable that that of a career politician. I have some small policy differences but he is our best option. Obama has to go.

Since Obama will lose this puts Palin out to 2020 at the earliest. This was her time but she couldn’t pull the trigger. There was a campaign structure in place for her that was unlike anything we have seen, it will never be there again the same way. Too bad.

-- 4 more years.... the country's dead. I'm not even 40 and the USA is dead. --

The country did okay under articles of confederation, we have 50 independent states, some of which are reasonably healthy, and thousands of municipalities and county governments, not to mention strength of community, aside from government. Things might improve if the federal government collapses or is seriously threatened.

Listen to all the fatal-istic yahoos.

“We’re doomed! We’re doomed! Only my candidate could have beaten Obama!” I’ve heard that line with various candidates, from backers of Sarah Palin to Rick Perry to Mitt Romney to Ron Paul, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. “Only my candidate is/was electable.”

Puh-leease, that’s just showing biased all-or-nothing favoritism. And while there is no perfect candidate and I have not endorsed a candidate, there are probably several of the announced candidates who can defeat Barack Hussein Obama.

It’s time to stop listening to the talking head pundits and the lamestream media. Declarations of “it’s between Perry and Romney now, period,” have proven to be short-lived. We’re a long way from the first vote cast in the first state’s primary or caucus and many things can happen.

The vetting process is good so we can choose the best possible candidate. It’s not good to listen to “whispering campaigns” full of half-truths at best and deliberate falsehoods at worse. Let’s set the record straight with accurate quotes and voting records not taken out of context and not let manipulative media headlines influence our thinking.

Think for yourselves. Don’t even base your vote on who endorses who. I’ve had favorites who have backed other candidates I did not support. T’is the nature of politics as nobody is 100% in-line with your political philosophies.

Sarah Palin is a true gem of a person. She’s a fighter and an exemplar of the common American: humble, generous, a team player, patriotic, self-reliant, and she puts her family first. She and her family have endured the most vicious attacks since she was first named by John McCain. It is that fact that makes her so well thought of by her fellow citizens. We see that she has been so wronged, yet she stood with class and courage. God bless Sarah Palin.

I didn’t think he could take it to the finish line but as you said he is resonating and gaining ground.

He’s the obvious arch-conservative choice at this juncture..

Because she would have raised money quickly, just like Perry has.

I can’t believe you would turn on her like that. She’s a woman of integrity, honor and courage. Her whole life has been “ruined” in a sense by what’s been asked of her by her country in this brutal era. She will continue to serve and serve well. She may be President one day.

Many have sensed how mercurial a segment of Palin’s base — the fangirls (not all fangirls are women) — are. Today proves it.

I don’t want ANY of the current candidates.

Really, Sarah should have said something sooner. I wonder if there are other candidates that stayed out because of the possibility of her running.

Sorry, I’m not impressed she waited this long. The reason to hang on this long was NOT in her supporters best interest.

I’m very surprised.

I see you are very happy and clapping like a trained seal.

I see that although you were completely wrong about Palin, your personal attacks aren't going to end anytime soon. You have even less credibility than Sarah Palin at this point.

She didn’t “play” anybody you moron. If you’ve been “mistreated” by her supporters, it’s easy to see why.

If she ran she’d split the conservatives between Cain, perry and herself. Easy win for Romney.
