Sarah Palin Will Not Run For President in 2012 (Letter from Sarah)
Street Insider ^ | October 5, 2011

October 5, 2011 6:20 PM EDT

Sarah Palin confirmed in a letter to supporters she will not run for President in 2012, saying at this time she can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other Conservatives to office.

Below is a copy of Palin's letter:

October 5, 2011 Wasilla, Alaska After much prayer and serious consideration, I have decided that I will not be seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and country. My decision maintains this order.

My decision is based upon a review of what common sense Conservatives and Independents have accomplished, especially over the last year. I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency. We need to continue to actively and aggressively help those who will stop the “fundamental transformation” of our nation and instead seek the restoration of our greatness, our goodness and our constitutional republic based on the rule of law.

From the bottom of my heart I thank those who have supported me and defended my record throughout the years, and encouraged me to run for President. Know that by working together we can bring this country back – and as I’ve always said, one doesn’t need a title to help do it.

I will continue driving the discussion for freedom and free markets, including in the race for President where our candidates must embrace immediate action toward energy independence through domestic resource developments of conventional energy sources, along with renewables. We must reduce tax burdens and onerous regulations that kill American industry, and our candidates must always push to minimize government to strengthen the economy and allow the private sector to create jobs.

Those will be our priorities so Americans can be confident that a smaller, smarter government that is truly of the people, by the people, and for the people can better serve this most exceptional nation.

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House.

Thank you again for all your support. Let’s unite to restore this country!

God bless America.

– Sarah Palin

I know here is the order Bachmann, Cain and Perry. I have thrown up red flags against Cain on that thread. Which there are a lot of them.

Well, I don’t think I posted on any of the “will she run/yes/no type threads, I just lurked occasionally. I would have said the same thing if she had chosen to run, but it would have been a contest to find the most positive statements saying she wouldn’t.

Romney is my boy? Surely you must be joking. Feel free to check every single one of my posts for the past 3 years since I joined and find one good thing I ever had to say about Mitt Romney. It is WRONG to ask people not to exercise their right to vote and to stay home. WRONG!! Do you really think Romney will win the nomination? I don’t so this will probably be a mute point.

You say you don’t trust Romney, neither do I, we all know what he is, but we also know what we have now. I wouldn’t blame FR members on an O win in 2012 because I know that many of them will exercise their right to vote and won’t sit home and watch Hussein be elected again. The ones that sat home and didn’t vote for McCain will sit home again.

BUT PLEASE stop saying I am a Romney fan, it is a lie and my past posts speak for themselves. I have busted many Romneybots and they have been banned. One that is for Romney does not do that. I don’t think Romney will win the primary and this probably won’t even be an issue months from now.

Whoops, I got the order wrong probably because so many there were ‘wanting’ Cain. My personal opinion is that no matter how good a talker or how good a business man Cain is, I don’t think ‘many’ will be ready to elect another Black man right after Obama. I am not at all racist, I just believe that to be a fact.

If a woman were President and did horribly, people would be hesitant about electing a woman the next time. It’s human nature.

Jim, thanks for laying down the site law like that re Romney.

Romney is a milktoast pussy, and would give the traitorous Rats every opportunity to maintain their unremitting attack on our founding principles,
while laying all the political blame for the country's demise at the feet of the GOP.

Not to say they wouldn't deserve it for sticking us with such a deplorable candidate,
but we'd be decades getting the stink off the conservative cause in his wake.

I'm really disappointed with Sarah's decision, but it's hers to make for herself and her family,
even if that decision comes at the expense of the solid good she could have done for out nation.

Another 'quite frankly': judging by many of the comments on this thread, our site has somehow amassed a whole big pile of classless, no-grace @holes.
'I told you so' is always gauche when flaunted, but especially so coming from supposed 'allies'.

Anyway, thanks for the policy re Mittens.

This news (re SP) has heightened my pretty reliable sense of foreboding that SHTF is now unavoidable.

My thoughts are with those of you who have children.
Tragic enough that the history's greatest earthly hope for mankind is racing toward self-destruction.
What kind of CF today's kids will be faced with puts me in mind of Solzhenitsyn.

“I’m not going to rule her out in 2016, though”

Are you aware that she would be running agains’t the incumbent republican President? The chances of victory would be slim to none. She’s done. She made $12 million last year and God bless her. She never has to work again. I wish I could say that. She will probably make another $12 million next year. Todd never has to work again. God bless both of them.

I believe you are right. But there is more to Cain than just a business man. His record isn’t all that great. Perry is like a blood hound he’ll sniff it out...then is like a snake and will start striking and those strikes will be brutal.

"She said she would not seek the GOP nimination, not that she would not run. I don’t want to see a third party attempt but I do find it intereting the way the statement is worded."

Why do so many think that Obama... a man that can’t even talk to children at school without a teleprompter... is such a master debater?

(heh heh, master debater, I said master debater! LOL!)

I wish Perry would start going on more ‘talk’ shows, it’s the only way he can express himself to the public. They jump on Perry about the heartless word when it pertained to kids but Cain was ready to jump out calling racism without the facts, and did it on two shows in one day.

He’s conservative, other than jumping on the ‘rock’ thing without the facts, but I don’t think he has any experience at trying to run a country.

Well, we’ve got to beat Obama, that the main thing.

"Are you aware that she would be running agains’t the incumbent republican President?"

True enough. She will still be a force to be reckoned with, whatever she chooses to do after this, and I don't see her dropping completely out of sight. It's going to be a very interesting year or two, I think.

She ought to run for the senate in AZ since she just bought a house there. Palin would be a really good senator.

Do one of those skills include debating skills?

With all due respect, what do "debating skills" have to do with managing the affairs of the Republic.

I'd grant that Gov. Perry isn't a skilled debater. I'd also admit that I'm not even one of his supporters.

But when conservatives are making decisions on the basis of somebody's "debating skills", I've got to wonder...

As I recall, in the 2008 debates, we saw two losers square off against one another. And the biggest loser became President...

Aaah, JimRob, I like that post so much I want to take it home and fix it dinner. Time to marshal the troops, some of whom are really demoralized by this, some of whom are busy doing tap dances on the bodies of their wounded comrades, and some of whom, like you, are ready to charge forward and win the first battle: Defeat Romney. Then we can win the war: Defeat Obama.

We need FR more than ever, and we need a strong voice of conservative leadership at her helm. I wouldn’t be a monthly donor if I didn’t believe you are up to that challenge.
