Poll: Cain surges, opens up 20-point lead on Romney
By Alexis Levinson - The Daily Caller
1 hr 9 mins ago

In news sure to inject shock and awe into the Republican political primary season, a Zogby poll released Thursday showed Herman Cain leading the Republican field, topping former front-runner Mitt Romney by an astonishing 20 points. Cain would also narrowly edge out Obama in a general election, the poll found, by a 46“44 margin.

Romney, the former Massachusetts governor, would lose by a point to the president, 40 percent to 41 percent. Texas governor Rick Perry, who has slipped in the polls of late, would lose to the president 45 percent to 40 percent.

The poll found that 38 percent of Republican primary voters said they would vote for Cain if the primary were held today. Eighteen percent said they would throw their support to Romney, while 12 percent each said they would vote for Perry and Texas congressman Ron Paul. No other candidate attracted double-digit support.

The HermanCAIN is a storm to be reckoned with. CONSERVATIVELY speaking, it has a near perfect eye and is now a Category 5 storm.

“And [Obama] and his minions use his skin color as a shield to criticism, but Cain can and will ignore that shield.”

There it is in a nutshell. Obama can do and say the stupidest and most disastrous things, and he gets a pass due to PC, the MSM and the race card. Cain would call him on it so fast all Obama could do is stutter. [And Cain would do it w a disarming smile, a la Reagan.] By the time Cain finished w O, Little Barry’s ratings would be in the teens. Take it to the bank.

Remember the idea when Palin was running as VP that media couldn’t go after her as much because she was a woman?

I like what Cain is saying except for his sales tax idea.
However lets not fool ourselves if he went agains Obama. The media and libs would rip him constantly as not really being black because he isn’t liberal. Obama’s black supporters wouldn’t vote for him be’s not going to promise more entitlements, taxing the rich, etc.

Maybe Wash. will get the message that people are tired of slick talking sleazy politicians and want to support someone that doesn’t want to see this country turned into a third world sh!t hole.

Bbbbbbbbut Perry collected $17 million from special interests in just 45 days.

Sorry Fangirls, but as Ford proved long ago with the Edsel, massive promotion budgets won't convince people to buy a bad product.

In 1994 Herman Cain spoke to then-President Clinton about the cost of "Hilarycare" to businesses: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-WP5dYfBBzU&feature=youtu.be (Sorry, I don't know how to transfer a hot link.)

I'll keep looking for his "amnesty" position, but I can tell you that he has a 4-point "immigration" plan that begins with "secure the borders."

There’s a difference between your standard slick politician like Romney
and someone like Palin or Cain.

“Slick” will attempt to frame his positions on issues such that will offend the least amount of people.

Palin/Cain will honestly state their beliefs, teach you why they are correct, and tell you to make your own decision based on what they stated.

Cain is already facing the left head-on. He has been on NBC, MSNBC, ABC, CBS as much as FOX. He has gone head to head with people like The View, Sharpton, Amapour, O’Donnell, and more. They have thrown every gotcha question at Cain and he is handling it like a pro. I am not seeing any other candidate doing this - when Romney goes on these stations he just gets softball questions.

His years on the radio talking to ignorant liberals has well prepared him for this.

in a strange sort of way it should satisfy the Wall Street protesters, as the guy with the most money would not be coming out on top.

Cain does not have an amnesty plan.

He wants to enforce the laws that are on the books TODAY.

He believes that to become an American citizen, you should enter the country LEGALLY and follow the current process for becomming a citizen.

Cain’s big emphasis on illegal immigration is he wants to see the current laws enforced before we start tinkering with new ones.

Zogby’s poll is NOT an Internet poll in the way you think.

Internet polls are not representative because ANYone can vote in them, often multiple times.

Zogby’s polls are not like this at all. Zogby’s polls, while done on the Internet, are by INVITATION only. You cannot go to his site and just take a poll. You can sign up for them, provide your demographics, and IF they need your particular demographics, you get an invitation to that poll.

I am a Zogby poll’ee, but I do not get an invite to every poll. I did not get this one, cited in this posting, for example.

Again, Zogby’s are as fair as any telephone call poll, except that those he polls are selected based on demographics BEFORE they are polled, not AFTER, as traditional polls are done (which wind up throwing out many replies).
