Yes, that’s weird. What’s between Cain and Perry?

Watch the video. Cain is clearly pro-2nd Amendment. He calls it an unalienable right.

He supports the 2nd, think its a states issue. He’s a member of the NRA.

I don’t think Cain is a gun-grabber. I’d just like to know with more certainty where he draws the line on what would infringe the right to keep and bear arms. For example, I don’t think a state should be able to limit magazine capacity to 10 rounds. I don’t know what Cain thinks about that or other gun related specifics.

I don’t have a problem with any of it, as long as they don’t start making “exceptions” and “loopholes” to who should pay and who shouldn’t. We’ve got to get out of this hole...if they combine the 9-9-9 with cut in spending, we may be able to make some headway.

But what I fear is we’re going to hear how the first two 9’s will be too hard on the lower incomes (who right now not only don’t pay taxes, but also many of them receive large checks back from the gov’t at tax time due to credits.) Same with corporations, no excuses, no political favors, or loopholes...9 percent, period.

I don’t mind the sales tax, you don’t buy, you don’t pay it. And that’s my only skepticism, would additional sales tax curb spending, which in this economy would be awful.

Pro-Israel

Probably, but he’s not very knowledgeable about Israel. He didn’t know what the “right of return” was when he was asked about it.

There isn't any 'probably' about that that I can see. He stated with fierce conviction that Israel is our friend and that he would let the world know that if you "mess with Israel you are messing with the U.S."

Understanding what the 'right of return' is doesn't take much explanation and for someone who is principled, pro-Israel and intelligent all it takes is an explanation in order to know exactly where they stand.

Given Cain's policy of "working on the right problem, choosing the right people and coming up with the right plan," all coming from his background of problem solving basket case corporations, it doesn't concern me that he might have to ask for briefings on various issues. I don't see him as the kind of man who makes decisions without making the effort to find out all he can first.

I really can’t respond to vague accusations. If you have specifics, I would love to hear them.

John Kerry served in the military too. In Vietnam and Cambodia. I guess that makes him better than Cain.

Thanks for your thoughts on 9-9-9. Assuming that 9-9-9 could get through congress intact, doubtful IMO; as with the current tax code, future congresses could change it. I know from conversations I’ve had with people about Cain’s 9-9-9 plan, seniors on fixed income don’t like the idea of a national sales tax on top of state and local sales taxes. The other two 9’s don’t seem to bother most people. Another thing, eliminating the payroll taxes takes away the concept of paying into Social Security, so how would eligibility be determined? On the plus side, the 9-9-9 plan could actually lower the cost of goods and services.

Yes, Cain is by far our best and most effective speaker and candidate. I hope he can go all the way!! My only concern is whether he has the money and organization to compete in the early primaries. I wish I heard he was spending more time in Iowa. I think he could well there if he concentrates on it and could help launch his campaign. GO HERMAN GO!!!

Cain has a lot of business experience. He doesn't blame others for problems. He lived through Jim Crow and isn't bitter, just ambitious. He understands the threat from islam. He is pro-life and pro-marriage. He's been married to the same woman for 43 years.

"Cain, an African American former pizza mogul..."

It would sure be nice if the stupid MSM could ever, EVER say something about Herman Cain or Allen West that did not refer to their color at least once. So tired of that. And they call themselves "colorblind."

Notice how Cain went up, Perry went down, and Romney wasn’t effected at all. Cain drew all his support from the other conservatives in the race, and solved a big problem for Mitt Romney, where Perry looked like he was more “inevitable” than Romney is.

But now Romney’s back to being the “inevitable candidate”. And so far, Cain hasn’t shown any ability to solve that problem — nor has he shown any inclination to WANT to, going so far as to say he’d be happy to be Romney’s VP candidate (he said ANY VP candidate except Perry, but other than Cain, the ONLY TWO people in the race that have a chance of winning so he could possibly be a VP for are Perry and Romney — and he eliminated Perry).

This is much like in 2008, where all the conservatives split the vote, and then Huckabee played stalking horse against Romney for John McCain in the hopes of getting the VP slot. Huckabee also made a big splash at the VV summit.
