Thanks for posting. We just listened to the whole speech and the man is a plain talker. If there is anything that will give him a shot at the nomination and the Presidency, it is that people (both GOP and Dems) are fed up with politicians, and their “finger to the wind” policies. The fact that he’s not a politician might be a very positive thing for him.

My favorite part: the 3 things he didn’t like about the Frank/Dodd Act. Pretty funny stuff!

If it were Perry, you would be screaming that he was a crony of the Feds.

And you know that because? You're Miss Cleo?

Pro-2nd Amendment

There still some question about that. Cain says he’s pro-2nd, but he hasn’t provided enough detail of what he means by that. He hasn’t returned the questionnaire the Gun Owners of America ( http://gunowners.org/a09302011.htm ) asked him to fill out and also hasn’t returned the questionnaire from David Codrea, one of the prime motivators of the Fast and Furious investigation( http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-national/open-letter-to-herman-cain-on-the-right-to-keep-and-bear-arms ).

Pro-Israel

Probably, but he’s not very knowledgeable about Israel. He didn’t know what the “right of return” was when he was asked about it.

Pro-Military

Yes, but he didn’t actually serve in the armed forces. He was a civilian employee of the Navy. That’s still honorable.

What did you think about the 9-9-9 part? Though it intrigues me, I think it will be tough to sell, especially the 9% national sales tax. He will need to lay it out in much more detail.

Candidate..Cain has no elective experience.

That's a good thing. A very good thing, just as our Founders envisioned.

There is no record.

That is a false statement. You posted some of his record yourself. He has decades of executive experience which is a record of achievement.

I appreciate your intellectually honest assessment of what is currently known about Cain’s positions. I like your tag, too. I’m leaning Perry, but still looking hard at Cain.

Our Founders envisioned that long before all the sewage that has now encompassed our country. When they envisioned that they were not envisioning the monstrosity that we now call the U.S.A.. Further, at that time, no one had a record because the republic was in its infancy.

I’ll stick with someone who has shown that he is for the founding principles of this country.

Again, I am NOT willing to give my vote to a blank slate which is what Herman Cain is.

“The Herminator didn’t serve in the military.”

You sure?

“Cain went on to graduate from Morehouse College in 1967, then earn a master’s degree in computer science from Purdue University while working full-time for the Navy as a mathematician and physicist, developing ballistics for fighter planes and aircraft carriers.”

Suit yourself. All the politicians who got us into this mess had long records of public service.

That question mark is disingenuous. Cain has laid out his standing on all sorts of issues. If you are too lazy to search, let me know and I will do it for you. Cain has a lot to offer. You would be wise to listen to him.

I had Perry/Cain 2012 as my tag, but I’m uncertain enough about both of them now that I decided to change it. Neither of them has been stellar in the past few of weeks. They’re still my top two though.
