The bitter price to pay for Mexico's bloody drugs war
The Daily Telegraph ^ | 10/09/2011 | Harriet Alexander

Posted on 10/09/2011 5:57:15 AM PDT by EnglishCon

Ms Valles, 21, fled Mexico in fear of her life, hustling her parents, sisters, husband and one-year-old son into a 4 x 4 vehicle and hurtling across the border to seek asylum in the United States. They left just in time. That night a squad of hit men arrived at their small bungalow and ransacked the rooms.

"I would like to go back home," she said. "But if I hadn't left my country I wouldn't be alive now."

In spite of her diminutive size and sweet, girlish manner, Ms Valles had some powerful and vicious enemies. The criminology graduate was appointed chief of police in the small town of Praxedis G Guerrero, 50 miles east of Ciudad Juarez and a few miles from the US border.

Just something of interest, that I have not seen in the US media.

Notice that the $300 billion dollar per year marked is in the US. If the US citizens quit using drugs, the problem would go away. What is there about the US that drives people to drug use?

She sounds like a sympathetic character. However ...

hurtling across the border to seek asylum in the United States.

She also sounds like an illegal immigrant. The media loves to find sympathetic characters and then argue that 30 million illegal immigrants needs to be given amnesty ASAP.

They will never quit using drugs. Too many people prefer getting high vs being uncompromisable. I don’t use drugs and despise those who do.

The solution however, and I hate to say it is to legalize them, but regulate them to ensure quality and safety.

Was just reading this story...The Telegraph the first news source I read each day. Note the comment in the article that claims the citizens are more at danger with more violence (right across the border) than in Afghanistan.

I honestly don’t know. Never seen the appeal myself, but then again I had to work hard all my life.
Seems to me that most drug users get things handed to them on a plate - not much personal satisfaction in that!

Is there a difference between illegal and asylum seeking? I know here, you can claim asylum at the border (usually the airport) and your case gets investigated. If it fails, you supposedly get deported again.
She does certainly sound like a valid asylum case - but like I say, I don’t know US law in this regard.

The bitter price US CITIZENS pay for Mexico's orchestrated bloody drugs war---is another Mexican con game to get their greedy hands on US tax dollars.

REFERENCE----WHAT IS THE MERIDA INITIATIVE? The US Congress passed legislation in late June 2008 to provide Mexico with $400 million and Central American countries with $65 million that year alone, for the specific purpose of "fighting drug wars." The initiative was announced 22 Oct 2007 and signed into law June 30, 2008.

THE FACTS ARE THESE: The Third World is calculatedly staging the "war on drugs" and other border violence -- with a hidden agenda--to loot the United States treasury. Using deceit and guile, Mexico has infiltrated the US political system, from domestic to foreign policy, as well as L/E. The Mexican govt is sending millions of Reconquista shock troops from Third Worlds over the border (illegal aliens) coaching them about taking over the US system.

It is WELL known that the Zetas ‘gulf Cartel, a former "special forces unit" of the Mexican Army, has been in operation for years and has recently been recruiting openly in Mexico. In the border city of Reynosa a banner reads, “Former soldiers sought to form armed group; good pay, $500,” “The Zetas operations group wants you, soldier or ex-soldier.”

Mexican authorities said the signs were probably an attempt to "demoralize the soldiers and police," rather than a serious recruiting effort.

(waiting for hysterical laughter to die down)

==============================

Central/South America and Mexico are conning the US -----extorting US tax dollars to support Marxist/terrorist movement via the Merida Initiative----a despicable con game to arm its police and military using US tax dollars to protect terrorists and drug cartels who are moving across the border into the US. (Mexico is also the staging area for Central and South American Third Worlders, and terrorists from all over the globe, to invade the US.)

Clearly, the Mexican govt is fomenting drug violence in order to: (1) get billions of dollars in US assistance, and, (2) to get Third World voting blocs established over the border---pressure groups to badger Congress for more and more giveaways.

THE CON UP CLOSE Mexican border-crossers claim they are "victims" of violence and need "asylum." They know that pleading "Asylum" gets them thousands of dollars monthly from a special section of Social Security.

Illegals are being coached by Third World governments on how to loot the US Treasury. A lot of the monry is wired back home,.......a select few take a cut.

The federales, themselves, are salivating to get their dirty hands on trillions in US foreign aid---and they need voting blocs to manipulate the US govt and loot the US Treasury.

ACTION NOW---Stop all funding for this con game. Tell your reps to stop funding the Merida Initiative scam now. No more US tax dollars for Third World connivers.

I would imagine that there is a real, legal difference between illegal and asylum seeking. And this woman may be a valid candidate for asylum.

But the media is intentionally loose with language. They turn everything into a gray area. Here in MA, the state attorney general declared support for illegal aliens, saying that they hadn't broken any laws. Huh?

The stories about people seeking asylum are not stories about people seeking asylum. These stories are about Jose working as a gardener for below market wages.

I usually start with the Times (have press access, so the paywall isn’t a problem) and Al Jazeera, then the Telegraph and the BBC. Between the four you get a reasonably balanced and only moderately left wing slant on the day’s stories.

I can believe the danger claims. I spent two years in Mexico in my youth (long distant!) and it was rough then. Now, according to friends, it is far too dangerous a place to raise a family, or run a business, or even to farm food!

You need to read her story and background to see she was Police...and not stereotype her ....she did only what liberals believe can be true-— fight the guys with guns with “flowers”. ..and peace will come,,,,and these guys are Really Dangerous, your own personal nightmare, plus she had good information to pass on, so the Safe House.

Lack of family leadership, easy money to the youth, lack of education and another Terrorist is recruited.

The Telegraph is not your usual media outlet that is why many read it over the US rags disguised as Journalism.

There is a sign in the news room I used to work in.

“Emotion makes headlines.”

I will be following her case now I have seen it, as to me it is interesting.
To be honest, she did what I’d have done - grab family and get out of Dodge, without stopping to wind the cat and put out the clock - so I have some sympathy for her.
