AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A Real Man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander in Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do—that’s host. Get ready to what you were born to do—that’s listen (and post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread).

This is a toughie because I don’t put much stock in endorsements, even Sarah’s. (She was early out the box on Ron’s son, Rand, in my state. Now, my disagreement with her didn’t mean I thought less of her; but her endorsement didn’t swing me.) I would like to think her followers, of which I’m one, are not “robots” and aren’t going to just follow whatever she says because she says so.

The only thing wrong with Cain is his 9-9-9 plan.

It is a tough line to walk. I want a conservative, but I don’t want to be 100%er, who demands someone agree with me on every single issue (which only sets potential candidates up for failure, imho.) .

Unfortunately, in the zeal to get a conservative, the nitpicking has caused some to eliminate really good candidates and left them standing alone; and has the potential to do so more.

What would it do if Sarah were to come out and endorse Cain today? Good, bad?

I look for Sarah Palin to be involved more in electing tea party congressmen, senators and governors.

I love Rush but when it comes to presidential politics, he is exasperating as hell.

Completely agree. He definitely holds Reagan's 11th commandment for just about all of them except McCain.

That’s because the 11th commandment doesn’t apply to McLame. ;)

I typically do not either for the frontrunners, but for someone like Cain who is making a move, a few big names may bring in some money and Cain is going to need at least a decent amount of money to convince some of the "I like Herman but" naysayers.

I know Sarah had a net positive effect on McLame’s fundraising efforts, but not sure the impact she would have on Cain or anyone’s. It’s so hard for me to speak intelligently about this, because: A. I really like Sarah so I tend to think she balances the world on her pinky (j/k, but I do tend to think her impact on things are positive) and B. I don’t understand the mindset that waits for an endorsement to get behind someone. (It’s my failing. I’m just a very “blunt” person and if I like someone I support them, to hell with everyone else. lol) Typically, the “I like x, but...” crowd not only doesn’t really like x, but probably aren’t to gung ho to support x verbally much less financially despite endorsements; but that’s just my humble opinion. I am quite often wrong. :)

I agree, the 9-9-9 plan is very discouraging. I sent his team a note to ask why he abandoned the fairtax and went 9-9-9 and have not yet received an answer. I even suggested that they start posting on FR....

I don’t like having a sales tax, income tax and corporate tax. I want it all as one big sales tax that smacks every voter in the face with every purchase.
