Romney would simply be a fourth Bush term. He is cut from the same cloth. Where exactly is he going to find middle ground with a bunch of socialists?

RE :" Presidential candidate Mitt Romney took some less staunchly conservative stands than his rivals in their debate Tuesday night, declaring he can work with "good" Democrats and positioning himself closer to the center in line with his claim that he can draw crucial independent voters in next year's general election. He even defended portions of the Wall Street bailout, a particular sore point with many conservative voters who will play an important role in choosing the Republican nominee next winter and spring."

I hope this will trigger a offense against Romney because that liberal dishonest RINO stinks like hell. I was unimpressed with McCain in 2008 and Romney is looking even worse to me now

He not only can “work with” DemoncRATS but he would do their bidding. Just as he did in Massachusetts. Homosexual marriage, no problem. State mandated health care, no problem. Higher taxes, no problem. Working with Dems, no problem.

Romney is telling us in advance that will govern as a RINO. He will reach across the aisle, perform reach arounds and the like. He must think he has this thing sown up. Maybe he does.

The only “good Democrat” is a dead one, but they still get to vote.

Romney should not be polling consistently with 25% of the GOP vote. Is 25% of the GOP liberals?

I don’t assume they’re patriotic, I know most are not. The situation isn’t any different than any period of time throughout human history. The unethical take advantage of their, relatively, ethical populace. And make a financial killing.
The difference is we realize the situation. The Tea Party made a statement and now the opposition is instituting a ham-handed response.
The Tea Party is smarter than most of our elected representatives. And willing to start dis-banding the gov’t.
Our Gov’t can run to other countries but what assurances do they have there? Really, none. They’d prefer to try to make it here. They’re over a barrel more than you realize.

I’m getting depressed. It looks like Mitt all the way.

Why, Rick Perry, why did you have to suicide-bomb your own campaign?

And even that is questionable, since their funerals are used as rallies for some horrible legislation or another, when they aren’t still casting votes.

So if Jimmy Carter-R was running against zero you’d vote for him? Do you not see my point? What’s the difference? We have to manipulate the situation we’re in, i.e. the election. We’re not fighting against dim’s, we’re fighting against a entrenched political class that doesn’t care how the election goes. It may be a moot point w/o Palin.

Most Dems in 2011 voted for Obamacare.

That makes them enemies of conservatism.

the question for me is what is statist romney’s strategy. what follows is pure opinion:

he must be counting on the squishy, feel good, moderate republicans, independents, anti-social conservative libertarians and even some democrats to win the general.

how does he get to the general?

he has to count on the moderate, uninformed republican voter who is in panicked stampede to get rid of obama, i.e., the anyone but obama voter as his base. that should get him about 1/3 of the primary vote.

he has to believe he can out last us with his “quid pro quo,” party first, republican collective backers and their money. he also wants the party machinery to speed up the process (remember obama and the middle of the night). everything is a crisis. has to be decided quickly. alinsky at its best and romney is a proficent alinskite.

by his comments and positions (i.e., pro abort, pro gov’t run healthcare = slavery, pro good democrats, pro obama (his heart is in the right place), he knows that most conservatives will not work for him and millions of us simply cannot vote for him out of conscience (i.e., commit a sin, my belief in God dictates that the ends (getting rid of obama) can never justify the means (voting for romney or any other proabort enslaver.))

besides romney *is* obamalite. even if he does become president the difference will be like getting hit with obama the commie freight train vs. getting hit by romney the socialist, big government semi-truck. yeah, there’s a difference but your still dead as a doornail.

the other reason not to work for romney is that he will most likely lose. there is a reason that obama wants romney. i don’t blame anyone for voting for romney, eventhough i can’t. but it most likely will (as with mccain) make no difference. i can’t even begin to imagine the colossal series of mistakes obama the sitting president would have to make to lose to liberal romney. they’re almost two peas in a pod.

if romney is the nominee, i’m going to spend my time on local and congressional races sporting real conservatives around the country. that way. if obama or romney the statist is in the WH, we’ll have a congress and state governments in place to oppose either one.

how will i as an individual combat his strategy. help build a 5th column of conservatives in government.

1 give money to the top two or three conservatives to keep them in the race against romney to the end.

2 support the tea party and “stop romney” to educate the ignorant third of republican voters.

3 support local, state and congressional true conservatives.

4 unfortunately, i don’t know how (not being a republican) to slow down the republican party collective. i hope someone out there has some ideas. we need to delay the choice. the longer we keep romney from clinching the nomination, the better our chances.

at a minimum, if we get a liberal statist president. we will need to continue to grid lock his policies in the congress or at the state levels.

oh well, this is over long for a comment. i’ll close there.

Did anyone ask him to name some “good Democrats”? They don’t exist but I’d like to hear who he thinks they are.
