I saw three conservatives in the debate tonight.

Only one is/has:

Successfully turned 450 failing businesses into 450 successes.

Is a Tea Party Member.

Has a strong business background.

Is anti-illegal alien.

Has a plan to create a positive business environment, which will almost immediately create jobs and expand the tax base and will lower the deficit and is “cost-neutral”

Has a degree in Math, Physics, and Computer Science.

Is a self-made millionaire.

Will benefit the most number of people in the country, especially those that create value.

Is a true conservative.

That man is Herman Cain.

If you’re confused by his 9-9-9 plan, or think it will cost you more than you are paying now, then you are not factoring in the benefits of a much lower corporate tax rate.

And no, SS benefits will not be taxed.

Yes, some people on fixed incomes or on low incomes will have to pay a sales tax, just like I do of 9% in California, but overall, they will benefit in the long run.

Or do we want another RINO that will do more of the same?

Desperate times call for radical solutions.

9-9-9 is a start, and may eventually even go down, not up once the public starts to see the benefits of the plan.

On a side note, some of the candidates acted like children.

No wonder DNCNN made the comment about Obama being the real winner tonight.

As I have said before I do not like Romney because of his record. However, I do not TRUST him because of his religion. Been there done that and I know too much about it.

This was Romney's worst performance yet. He was snarky and condescending all night long. Came across as a jerk.

You need to update your news about Newt...he changed his position as soon as the bogus science was revealed as with many others.

The Pentagon just finished a threat assessment. The next President will be sending troops into Mexico as part of the war on terror. When they do border security will be part of it, that is why we need to elect someone who understands the border, understands the military and is not afraid to us it.

She is more that only wrong she lied!!! If she said that a 9% sell tax plus a 9% tax on business THAT WILL ACT AS A “VAT” tax she first ignore that we already have a 36% profit tax on business that in her logic is in law.
Second. She has no knowledge how VAT taxes are in practice. As I lived under them I can state that even few people understand them.
A VAT tax is usually applied like this.
At the retail point is like sells tax in America’s states.
At the resellers level is applied for everything is purchased and paid fast, monthly or at most every 3 months in few countries. (and it requires almost everywhere a centralized system of invoices emitted by a central authority with unique serial numbers for all economical agent's see 1099 for everything over $600 in obamacare in my opinion an attempt to build a data base for VAT).
And after a product is sold by that reseller to a retailer or to an other reseller the government reimburse the re seller for the VAT he paid for the mostly in VAT for raw materials he used and hardly anything for the services he used from third party providers IE internet, utilities, etc

In practice a VAT tax is not repetitive (like a profit tax) but it adds in average 5% over nominal value officially stated due to difference in commercial pricing from one step the next step for each product on all steps. ( a ultra stealth form of taxation)
And as a corollary of everything governments usually promise to reimburse the vat to resellers in about 3 mounts of the sell to a reseller but in practice is often late (they are using the money).

And Cain will render the “race card” useless by the MSM in their criticisms of Obama.

Frpm a new FR thread (check it out):

“Herman Cain’s 9-9-9 tax plan would raise taxes on 84 percent of U.S. households, according to an independent analysis released Tuesday, contradicting claims by the Republican presidential candidate that most Americans would see a tax cut. The Tax Policy Center, a Washington think tank, says low- and middle-income families would be hit hardest, with households making between $10,000 and $20,000 seeing their taxes increase by nearly 950 percent.”

As Newt pointed out, it was a Heritage Foundation idea as an alternative to HillaryCare, 13 years before RomneyCare.

Heritage, and Newt if he support the concept then, dropped the mandate concept long ago.

Cain’s 999 plan, as it is now formulated, will not be supported by senior citizens who live on a fixed income. Seniors worked all their lives, paid into Social Security and have skin in the game...we’re not getting a “free ride.”

Many of us seniors on fixed incomes must use food pantries and use food money to pay for medicine instead. We do not have any more money to pay the current taxes, food, medicine, rent, utilities PLUS Cain’s 9-9-9 tax.

Cain still has time to make adjustments, changes to his 9-9-9 tax plan, if he wants to, that is. If he wants the senior citizens vote, he had best make some tax plan changes, because his plan will kill off senior citizens sooner, rather than later.

They had Steward Varney on Hannity and he said that Cain is the only one with a plan that would improve the economy.

This makes #2 first the electrified fence and now negotiating with terrorists.

There's been at least five. There was the one where he said it was illegal to take out Anwar al-Awlaki; there was the claim that Perry was insensitive when he painted over the rock with racial slur; and there was his denying that he thought those wanting to audit the Fed were ignorant.

This stuff will come back to bite him, especially since it seems to be a habit.

Well, I would love to see her get saved. Might affect her support for Mittens too.

About your point 2, the second 9 percent would be on the cost of the goods plus 9 percent. Etc. If the goods pass through four or five stages from raw product to consumer, that is not only 9 percent five times, it is COMPOUND interest. Then the retail buyer gets to pay 9 percent on the whole mess, or 18 percent on the whole mess if he lives in a sales-tax state already.

Like I said — my sympathy for people who have been apparently paying a lot less than 9% and are now facing some kind of onerous burden is limited. Yours would be too if you had my paycheck.

999 is fairer than the current structure, no disputes about that. Even taking your 84% figure at face value — if this means 84% now are paying more taxes and realizing the financial hell they’ve been putting the other 16% through, maybe we’ll finally have a serious discussion on cutting spending.
