So I missed the debates and went to FR to catch up. What I found were the same tired arguments about Mormans with each side acusing the other of starting the argument. zzzzzzzI do apologize, when the other candidates were supporting Romney on his choice of religion, I said "take that you mormon haters". I should have known better because then there becomes this obsessive compulsive need to bash "mormonism" but we don't "hate mormons".
It was such a good thread before that. I got off the thread but it continued.
I won't do that again!!

I never said that the fence is sufficient by itself, that’s something you made up out of whole cloth.
The fence is important because it can’t easily be subverted by pro-illegal politicians like Obama and Dubya.
Maybe more important than the fence is deportation. The fence won’t remove the vast number of illegals that have transformed California. And it won’t stop the large number of illegals who fly here and never go home.

If you would read my comment again, you may want to take back what you said. Are you that brain dead that you didn’t get it? My point is that illegal immigrants from Mexico add no real value to our economy as they do not have the education or skills that we need going forward in the 21st Century. Instead, they suck up resources and social services and are actually an expense. That being said, the US should encourage lawful immigration from people around the world who can add real value to our society. We need scientists, engineers, hi-tech workers, health care workers, teachers, etc. There is no getting around the fact that given our drop in population replacement, we need more workers to fill the tax void to pay for the boomers Social Security, etc., etc.
The US is not the undeveloped place of 100 or 200 years ago - our needs have changed.
