Cain: Occupy Movement Should Be Outside WH, Not On Wall Street (Video)
Real Clear Politics ^ | 10/18/11 | CNN/Herman Cain

Posted on 10/19/2011 7:35:09 AM PDT by justsaynomore

Best statement of the night - must see video :-) ___________ Herman Cain stands by his "if you don't have a job, blame yourself" line while talking about the "Occupy" movement. "They might be frustrated with Wall Street and the bankers, but they're directing their anger at the wrong place. Wall Street didn't put in failed economic policies. Wall Street didn't spend a trillion dollars that didn't do any good. Wall Street isn't going around the country trying to sell another $450 billions. They ought to be over in front of the White House taking out their frustration," Cain said at CNN's debate in Las Vegas.

I would include the Capitol building as well.

“They ought to be over in front of the White House taking out their frustration”

Could Cain be more accurate in this?

Just wait until the WH pulls our troops out of Iraq. I’m all for getting out of there but Obama is already saying we need to find jobs for these people when they come home. This means he is going to kick them out of the military. After putting their lives on the line, they want to lay them off? What a slap in the face for our military. These people need to go to Washington also.

Plagiarizing myself from earlier:

I remember during the demonstrations at Kent State Univ-with Ohio National Guard and Students.... someone said the whole thing was: ‘one set of draft dodgers squaring off with another set of draft dodgers’.

Well... the OWS crowd demonstrating against politicians/Wall Street is ‘one set of tax dodgers squaring off against another set of tax dodgers

It would not be allowed, mac daddy is ok with these mob anywhere but in Washington or near the White House.

While these plantation slaves do his bidding he travels in style, sleeps in a warm bed, showers each day and eats well and like all leaders of mobs he does his cheerleading from a place well away from the action, noise, filth, rain, cold, dope and thief.

All hail the great leader, mac daddy the absent cheerleading leader.

Clearly one of the very best moments of the debate and Cain’s best moment.

You look at some of the gripes/demands of these people. Most of them are purely marxist, class warfare on their face and wholly anti-American, anti-Free Market, anti-Individual Responsibility, etc.

Here are some examples:

I want my student loan forgiven!
Well, all student loans have become the responsibility of the Federal Government under President Obama (which itself is unconstitutional), so take your gripe to the White House. This is not a Wall Street issue. Bi=ut it is a oersonal responsibility and accountability issue. I had student loans 35 years ago. I did not get a "dream" job out of the chute. I began paying mine back as soon as I had a job and made sure I took a job so I could. Ultimately, after a lot of hard work and experience, the better jobs came and I paid them off. Pay of your loans...it's a charachter building experience and if you avoid it and do not grow your character...you will never improve yourself as a human being.

I can't get a job!
Again, not a Wall Street issue. This President has spent trillions of dollars on stimulus and bail outs that he promised would lower the unemployment rate. But the rate has gone up and his plans have failed...and they have failed largely because he is the living embodyment of the claims you make against others, ie. that he pays off his friends and supporters, that he shows favoritism (spelled cronyism), that corruption is involved with the money. So, again, take your protest to the White House.

The fact is, there are lot of jobs out there. The real issue is that many of you do not want a job unless it supports your inflated and premature expensive life style. Start where you are at, work hard and build up...again, a lot of it is about charachter.

I lost my house!
This President has been involved, negatively, in the Housing bubble and crisis from the get go. He and his comrads in the Democratic party created the bubble by demanding that everyone who wanted a house ought to be able to get one, credit and payment histories be damned.

Foolish Republicans went along with the plans, fearing they would be labeled as "uncaring", or "uncompassionate." Well, it was a no win plan that was meant to bring the Republicans down and the Democrats rammed through laws that forced bankers to take on very bad debt so that literally anyone could get a house.

Community organizers (like Obama) went into the black and other minority communities and actively sought home buyers, promising them they could qualify. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mack garaunteed the notes and they themselves were corrupt, where these government created entities paid their executives tens of millions in bonases while presiding over a failed program and corruption abounded.

Ultimately the notes were broke up and sold to wall street who ended up being left holding the bag. But, never fear, having successfully hung the fault on the Republicans, Obama took office and immediately bailed out his friends and supporters in the banking industry and on wall street which has served to make the problem even worse.

So, in the end, you have many people who should never have been able to buy a house, getting them, and then, predictably, walking away from them when they could not pay for them and the bottom fell out. Again...you should be protesting at the White House against Obama and people like Barney Frank, Diane Feinstein, etc., etc. who are playing these protesters like a fiddle.

Wall Street is corrupt and makes too much money!
Wall Street has been a victim of government over regulation and influence as much as any place else. Do they have individuals who are corrupt? Of course, any large industry does. It is principally up to the people (that means the free market for folks from Rio Linda) to see this and refuse to do business. When left alone, the Free Market can be wonderfully self-correcting where bad business is allowed to go out of business when government does not intervene. The vast majority of the people working on Wall Street are not "rich" and make lower to middle incomes.

Like any company, there are those on top in managament who make more. But their responnsibilities demand it. They have a responsibility to the share holders to make a profit and the share holders decide how much they are willing to pay someone whom they believe has the capability and responsibility of doing that. It is not something they risk willy nilly...despite what you may think. This is how business works. When profits are made (and not excessively taxed) businesses have money to expand, hire more workers, and make the most of a good thing...ie. more profit, more jobs, more products.

I notice so many of the "OWS" crowd using Blackberries, Dell Computers, wearing L.L. Bean Jackets, eating at McDonalds, and the list goes on and on. These are all corporations, they all have stock...they are a part of Wall Street. They make products that even these progressive marxists who want to "bring them down" use and wear. The irony is amazing and would be laughable if it were not so serious.

And why is it serious? Because these people are being so intolerably and rediculously used...abjectly...to futher the progressive marxist aims of the organizers and big money that is supporting them. All of the trinkets and gadgets and comforts these people take for granted are a part of capitalism, the free market, and an America based on fundamental Republican principle.

If that is taken away and destroyed like the progressives want...all of those things go out the window and you are left with a government then so powerful that it can control every aspect of life and you end up with decades of a Soviet style system that is worse for everyone except an even smaller number of people on the top...who, guess what? will not allow even this level of dissent when the time comes. Such systems are marked historically by slaughter and killing of any dissent...uh-hunm, that means you OWS.

But this is historical. Read up on the "useful idiot" Lennin used and what becaome of them once he took power.

These regimes ultimatrely fail miserably leaving a bankrupt border-line or actual third world country in their wake.

Marx was right!
See the above explanation. History has shown, ever since anyone tried to make a governance system out of the works of Karl Marx, and it has been a history of genocide and murder and the blood of tens and tens of millions...precisely that Karl Marx was wrong. And he is still wrong.

America...the United States of America...despite whatever weaknesses and faults...is the living proof of this. This nation has created the most wealth, the most prosperity (reaching to the greatest number of her citizens), the most giving and caring nation in terms of helping others (even her enemeis), the strongest nation, and the greatest defender of individual freedom and liberty on earth.

...and it did so precisely because it was based on fundamental moral principle as taught by people like Jesus Christ and put into practise and law by people like John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and others which the people as a whole accepted and put to use in their every day life. As opposed to a godless progressive system where some absolutely imperfect, and in all probablity power hungry, individual tries to make "social justice" for everyone else.

WHAT OCCUPY WALL STREET IS ALL ABOUT
