Pampering the poor? Literally?

I guess it’s something in the vein of food stamps and other such aid, but it sounds like the mountains are in labor and giving birth to a ridiculous mouse. Why not at least keep it to a state level?

It's perfect that DeLauro be associated with diapers, since anyone who's ever heard her speak knows she's full of $#!t.

This is really silly. The same effect can be had a lot more simply by just modifying the food stamp list to include diaper products. DONE.

FYI, I do not condone food stamps. Food stamp fraud, which I hear about at least once a month, cost us taxpayers millions (billions?) of dollars per year. In the simplest scenario, the fraudster goes to the grocery and loads up on high dollar items (steaks, etc.), pays for the goodies with food stamps and then sells the goodies for 70-80 cents on the dollar.

I guess I’m not understanding this right. What do these babies wear at home if their mothers can’t afford diapers?

DeLauro is married to political strategist Stan Greenberg. They are close friends with former White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

DeLauro is one of the fifty richest members of Congress.

No doubt the Economic Recovery part of the bill will direct Federal diaper purchases to the business of some friend, relative, or crony of DeLauro. The diapers will be overpriced & poor quality, yet taxpayers will pay muffin prices for them.

I am SOOOOOOOOOO sick of the corrupto-nannies I could vomit! It will ALMOST be a blessing when the system collapses if any part of it falls on these SOBs.

This bespeaks a lack of vision. Rosa DeLauro could win much more support over diapers if she introduced a ban on disposable nappys.

Think about it in buggy whip terms. Hardly a man is now alive, but once, when the buffalo roamed the prairie and there were only four TV channels and only rich people owned microwaves Diaper Services employed tens of thousands of working stiffs who would drive trucks out to one’s house on a weekly basis and take away the hamper with the dirty cloth diapers and replace them with clean ones. The soiled ones would be laundered in huge facilities.

If disposable diapers were banned think of all the jobs that would be created, hell, they could even be qualified as “green” jobs.

By the way, I’m sure Ms. DeLauro (she’s MARRIED?!? To a man?!?) could scare up quite a few votes form her colleagues if she promises to wear a diaper over her face for the rest of her congressional career.

I thought this bill was ludicrous until I read this:

“Free diapers for every mother who has a kid in daycare. If you’re a stay-at-home mother or unemployed you and don’t use daycare you don’t get free diapers.”

Then I realized it was a deplorable program designed to get more children into indoctrination daycare.

God help us.

A better investment would be Depo Provera shots or IUDs to women with children on welfare, so that they cannot accidentally have another child they cannot support.

Politicians and diapers should be changed frequently - and for the same reason.
