Oil Companies Prosecuted for 28 Dead Waterfowl While Wind Companies kill 400,000+ Every Year
The Blaze ^ | September 30, 2011 | Dave Urbanski

You may have gotten wind of the seven North Dakota oil companies recently charged in federal court with the deaths of 28 migratory birds. The birds allegedly landed in oil waste pits in western North Dakota last spring; the maximum penalty for each charge under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act is six months in prison and a $15,000 fine, the AP said. But did you know that wind-power companies are responsible for more than 400,000 bird deaths annually, and not one has faced a single charge?

The Wall Street Journal knows it, opining yesterday that the prosecutions are “bird-brained,” especially when wind-power outfits routinely beat the rap:

Wind farms not only kill birds, they decimate bat populations. The bats easily avoid the blades, but their lungs are crushed by the air pressure as they fly through the turbulence.

These giant fans are destroying more wildlife than any other energy source.

This is life under liberalism, folks......prosecution of those who do not think the right way and protection of those who do.

Funny how they don’t prosecute Power companies for the birds which land on their wires & cross-touch another wire & get fried.

I am very glad that I never raised any offspring. By now, if they were educated as we are seeing here, I would shoot them all myself & bury them in the back 40.

The Government is prosecuting these companies for killing a few mallard ducks. The same government selling hunting licenses during duck season to shoot mallards by the millions? (Head shaking...)

Dang, in one case we have actual dead animals and facts, in the other we have hang wringing just like the libs did on the spotted owl and snail darter. How about some live video of those 200000 birds. Should be a large pile and easy to find, a few hundred around the base of each windmill daily. Get out there and start filming and make sure some farmer does not shoot you for getting on his property.< /p>

I did see a cat get into a transformer once. He had a really bad hair day, for just an instant.

Migratory Bird Treaty Act

OK, GOP candidates. This sounds like a treaty that needs to be repudiated. And I see another department of government that needs to be disbanded.

Who is willing to speak up? Who really wants to be president?

Government agents went on a 45-day helicopter search for dead ducks in the oil fields of North Dakota? How much fossil fuel did they burn?

I’ll bet they were black helicopters, too!

Another snippet worth posting here:

Based on studies, one wind farm in California is estimated to have killed more than 2,000 eagles, plus thousands of other birds, yet no prosecution has been initiated for violations of federal laws protecting birds.

Good grief, with the picture above your post, I just figured out what all these windmills are really all about.

They are feeding station areas for the wolves they’ve reintroduced to the wild that we can’t kill if they come at us or our domestic herds.

The blades are there to nail birds and they fall to the ground dead (but fresh) around these turbines, and the wolves can just come there and use the place as a feeding station.

/sarc but with the liberal mind it may not be

Tens of thousands of wild critters are mowed down every day on the nation’s highways. If they’re going to start prosecuting businesses for slaughtering wild critters, then they should begin with the auto companies. Which will never happen. Makes about as much sense as prosecuting i.e. persecuting these oil companies.
