Is Rick Perry drunk??? Full Cornerstone Speech
YouTube Video ^ | October 29, 2011 | Video

This is the smear on Governor Perry this week.

It was on FOX News for discussion this morning, and moments are being excerpted in an attempt to show Governor Perry as a drunkard during his speech to this evangelical conservative group in New Hampshire this past week.

Among some very serious and important talk (and some Scripture), Governor Perry lightens up for some jesting.

You'll see a few minutes of the light-hearted areas on TV and the internet as a "drunken Rick Perry".

Make sure you see the entire 25 minute video here of his NH Cornerstone speech to see how impossible it would be to go from sober to drunk to sober to drunk to sober, insightful, and inspiring, all in five minutes time or so, a speech which received a standing ovation by these evangelical conservatives in New Hampshire.

See it ALL here first, and you'll understand if this is all they have on Governor Rick Perry, if that's ALL they can even find, we are in really, really good shape.

He he appeared high...or possibly had more than a few drinks.

His demeanor was silly, juvenile, loose and he appeared slightly disoriented.

He goes from loud, to whisper in seconds...With very odd animated facial expressions.

To be honest, this guy is spooky.

A: Texas Gov. Rick Perry

Q: With which candidate would you most like to drink a beer pound tequila shots?

The speculation is that it's prescription medicine or maybe dramamine.

Perry probably knows enough not to mix liquor and speechifying by now.

He had back problems, and did some sort of weird medical procedure for it. I’ve been on some of those painkillers, and I’ve felt like at the first two debates he looked like he might be on drugs. But they don’t make you look drunk, they can make you tired.

But they don’t effect you for 30 seconds, and then you are fine for 5 minutes, and then back and forth again.

You know, the parts people are saying look odd actually remind me of his speech introducing Sarah Palin at one of his campaign rallies when he was running for re-election.

Maybe someone could dig up that video and post it.

Anyway, the charge was that he was drinking, and that has been pretty soundly refuted, much to the consternation of the Cain supporters who were looking for a real pick-me-up after sending all their money to Cain and still having him talking about this stupid harrassment story. What will they do when they can’t run around calling Perry a drunk and a homosexual?

ON second thought, they didn’t actually NEED any evidence for that.

Perry wasn’t drunk at speech, says host
By Cameron Joseph - 11/01/11 04:20 PM ET
Presidential candidate Rick Perry was stone-cold sober during his bombastic, comedic speech in New Hampshire, according to the man who invited the Texas governor to speak and spent much of the evening with him.

“I can tell you unequivocally he wasn’t drinking at the event and he hadn’t been drinking prior to the event,” said Kevin Smith, the executive director of Cornerstone Action, the conservative group that hosted the event over the weekend. “I was sitting with him, and I found him to be very engaging with all of the people he was talking with, he was very articulate.”

Smith, who has not endorsed any candidate, said that Perry drank “only water” at the event and that his speech was well-received by the audience. Smith spent much of the time before the speech with Perry, including dining with him at the event’s head table beforehand.
“When I started seeing all of the blog stuff going up on Sunday and the video going viral it caught me by surprise,” said Smith. “He was definitely more animated than we’ve seen him during the campaign but the reports that he was buzzed or whatever never crossed any of our minds.”

A video featuring clips of Perry’s speech went viral this weekend and has since been viewed on YouTube by more than 600,000 people.

The eight-minute video shows a punchy Perry joking about how “cool” New Hampshire’s state slogan is, making fun of rival Herman Cain’s tax plan and giggling when presented with a bottle of maple syrup from the event’s organizers.

Late-night comics and some news anchors, including MSNBC’s liberal host Rachel Maddow, said Perry appeared drunk during the speech, and others have speculated he might have been on back-pain medications. But Smith said that despite media reports to the contrary, he thought it was one of Perry’s stronger speeches since he became a candidate.

“The people there loved the speech. The reaction I was getting was ‘wow, he hit it out of the park’ — people were saying that was the Perry they wished they’d see during the debates,” he said. “He was loose and passionate. He got a great reaction from the audience.”

ok, Perry made me laugh but

YOU made me smile!

when you said:

“Yes, it is objective. The things that are embarrassing to me is a man caught in a sexual harrassment scandal who can’t quite get his facts straight, a man who sits on a couch with Nancy Pelosi doing a global warming commercial for Al Gore, a guy who thinks America deserved 9-11, and a guy who puts his dog in a 700 crate on the top of his car and goes on vacation.

To each his own. Which one is your guy?”

Now that right there makes you stop and go Hmmmmmmmmm.

I’m for the guy that protects baby labs from coyotes!

I’m for the one that said this:

“It is time to let America be America again. To return freedom to the people. To stand on our founding principles and reject the cynical politics of the Nanny State.

To paraphrase President Reagan, Washington isn’t the answer to our challenges, it is part of the problem. It is time to get Washington out of the way in order to preserve the American Way.”

I was around during the appointment hearing for Justice Thomas and I say you are wrong! The same tactic is being foisted on Cain and it is wrong!

No it is not the same at all. In Justice Thomas' case a woman came out of the blue and accused him, with NO records of having filed a complaint at the time. She testified before congress to things and was an employee of the EEOC department and should have KNOWN how to file a complaint. In Cain's case, the woman filed at the time. It may or may not have been a smear, but Cain has admitted he knew about the complaint so it WAS filed at the time. It can still be a smear, but it is in NO WAY as vile at what was done to Thomas.

I don't know about the case because we haven't read the complaint, but I really don't think Cain is guilty, but even so, it is nowhere near as bad as what was done to Justice Thomas and you belittle Thomas by drawing the parallel.

Of all the words in your post #61 “juvenile” is the one that kept coming to mind as I watched this performance.

I guess pain killers could have been a factor, but the bigger issue is: Not Presidential.

I agree. Given the grave state of this country, the last think needed is a candidate/president who appears giddy, loose, and acts silly, not to mention the fact half the people who’ve seen this video believe he was possibly intoxicated or medicated.

Crazy days...

Actually, I think a person has to be drunk to want to run for president and put themselves at the mercy of this bunch of jackels in the media...
