forbes ^

Posted on 11/02/2011 1:12:28 PM PDT by Perdogg

Was the recent attack on Herman Cain’s presidential campaign a professional hit job? Absolutely, says Herman Cain. And he says he knows just where to look for the guy who did it: At 815 Slaters Lane in Alexandria, Virginia, a low-slung former warehouse in the shadow of a coal plant.

There's also this regarding another person who's had associations with the NRA/Cain, Karl Rove, Romney and now Rick Perry.

The fact is, it makes no sense for this to be coming from liberals. They'd be far better letting this ride until Cain had won the nomination, or just letting the GOP eat its own. This is out because the GOP doesn't want some 'upstart' taking control of their election. And that has Rove's face all over it. He's their point man against the Tea Party. And his associations with Romney, Perry (I don't for a minute believe that some little spat is more important than the GOP maintaining control over this election), and people within the NRA are a sure place to look for who's behind this.

Who were the first two who “came out?”

I was not aware that either of the other alleged women had “come out” and identified themselves.

There are many RINOs and leftists who want to see Cain fail right now...and they will be pouring on the steam.

We will have to decide if there’s anything to it...but right now, I believe Herman Cain and trust him and those who vouch or him. I will not buy into the attacks without a lot more evidence and smoking guns than what we have seen. Right now, it smells like what I believe it is...a smear job by scheming pols to bring down a decent man who is surprising them all with his campaign.

I have to go with post#40 on this, in terms of “it makes a lot of sense”.

But Cain better have some hard evidence, or he’s in big trouble... bigger than the original “lady trouble”.

Nope this is a Romney operation. I’d bet on it but Herman won’t say so because he’s really running for the number two spot on the ticket of the only candidate in the race he says he respects. Mitt Romney.

I hate to say it, but Cain ain’t gonna make it.

I think we’re gonna be stuck with you-know-who. Depressing.

Maybe this was what Perry was so happy about in his New Hampshire speech...

I know a lot of people want to blame Perry, but let’s wait for the facts.

LOL. I'm still waiting for the facts about these unsubstantiated claims of sexual harassment against Cain. It seems the rest of the world has decided to declare Cain guilty and move on.

Perry had no “liberal upbringing.”

My background is very similar to his. Democrats controlled Texas politics for more than a century after the Civil War, and Texas Democrats back then were in line with today’s conservative Republicans.

Perry is the wrong man for the job, and I want him to drop out. That said, he comes from truly conservative rural roots. He’s just been in politics too long.

At this point, you almost have to say that once Cain has made this accusation then one of these two things is true: 1) Perry is toast 2) Cain is toast

What you say is so true that the very truth itself is a lie by comparison.

I'm really hoping that Cain is 100% certain of the facts to prove this allegation.

If not, then I would be reluctantly forced to reconsider my support for him, because if he can't prove it, then he is not as smart as I thought.

No, it’ll be either Romney and Cain or Romney and Gingrich. Cain has surged in the polls and Newt’s been making steady progress. Perry is a non-factor. He’s polling lower than Newt in almost every survey I’ve seen.

Perry’s liberal upbringing is showing

Perry didn't have a liberal upbringing. If you don't know that most democrats in the South of an age with Perry are actually conservatives than you don't know diddly about Southern politics and should refrain from commenting on the subject.

I thought it was Perry when I first read about this yesterday, early in the a.m., and posted as much.

This Perry guy is an asshat pretending to be a good ol’ boy.

I’m a good ol’ boy and I know a slimy pretender when I see one.

It wouldn’t surprise me to ultimately find out that a Dem “accidentally” furnished the information to a GOP somebody to make the leak appear as if it came from the GOP. I would definitely credit the Dems with that much guile. It would also not surprise me to find out that Perry researched and leaked this all on his own. But frankly, this smells more like it came from the GOP rather than the Dems.

I hope this works out for Mr. Cain and will withhold judgement until it either does or does not. I don’t need to get any more upset than the media already wants me to be, those sh**heads.

Cain didn’t start the whole idiotic story about the rock. He was just asked about it in an interview.
And,as my fellow Texan stated, Perry ain’t no conservative.

It is about time for you to modify your Perry talking point. Mr. Cain has already passed Gov. Romney in numerous polls. This latest smear job perpetrated by Perry thugs has helped not hurt.
