DNA and at least three witnesses link a parolee with a lengthy criminal record to the fatal stabbing of a 14-year-old girl who walked in on a burglary at her home in Indian Head Park last week, prosecutors said today.
John L. Wilson Jr., 38, is accused of repeatedly stabbing Kelli O'Laughlin as she arrived home from high school, then using her cell phone to send taunting text messages to her mother. He was finally arrested as authorities tracked the phone.

Couple all that with the fact that our fair State has effectively ended the death penalty. So we’ll get to pay to feed, house, and medic this animal for the rest of his life.
What he deserves is a fair trial and a first class hanging.
They let this loser out on parole and it cost a child her life. Whoever was responsible for that decision can never give her back to her parents.
In cases like this, “cruel and unusual,” should be defined applying the criminal’s own criteria. By his standards, multiple stabbings and psychological torture are well within the realm of acceptable behavior and he should be treated to the same.
Perhaps he could be hung by the neck for life. Granted, his life sentence might only last a few minutes, but it wouldn’t be the death penalty...
He had only been out a year from an 11 yr sentence .
They should be on trial right next to him.

Sovereign immunity assures us of an incompetent government. The notion that competent people would not go into public service is laughable on its face. It's hard to imagine it could get worse if public sector workers were libel for incompetent work.

The law should be as follows:
Anyone threatening or using violence, or carrying or using a weapon in the commission of a felony crime, will be sentenced to death upon conviction. No other sentence is possible. This person & any accomplices are totally & solely responsible for ALL damages, injuries, or deaths as a result of their crime.
Furthermore, anyone committing the above crime will immediately lose all their civil & HUMAN rights until they turn themselves in, are captured, or killed. That is to say, shooting them is legal if they will not immediately surrender.
