Russian navy to start sorties in Mediterranean
Reuters ^ | 06DEC07 | Guy Faulconbridge

Excerpt of excerpt:
"Black Sea fleet ships and aircraft support would meet them in the Mediterranean. He said military exercises would be held during the sorties and that the group would visit six foreign states. He did not name them...Russia has long been talking about reviving a permanent naval base in the Mediterranean."

"remember Russia has more problems with Islam then we do."

Here's a repost of one of my comments from September of last year.

Russia has a few military friends in its Collective Security Treaty Organisation (CSTO: members listed below). Iran has "observer" status in the organization.

The following excerpts are from the CIA World Factbook

Russia

Religions:
Russian Orthodox 15-20%, Muslim 10-15%, other Christian 2% (2006 est.)
note: estimates are of practicing worshipers; Russia has large populations of non-practicing believers and non-believers, a legacy of over seven decades of Soviet rule

Kazakhstan

Religions:
Muslim 47%, Russian Orthodox 44%, Protestant 2%, other 7%

Kyrgyzstan

Religions:
Muslim 75%, Russian Orthodox 20%, other 5%

Tajikistan

Religions:
Sunni Muslim 85%, Shia Muslim 5%, other 10% (2003 est.)

Uzbekistan

Religions:
Muslim 88% (mostly Sunnis), Eastern Orthodox 9%, other 3%

Belarus

Background:
Government restrictions on freedom of speech and the press, peaceful assembly, and religion remain in place.

Religions:
Eastern Orthodox 80%, other (including Roman Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim) 20% (1997 est.)

Armenia

Religions:
Armenian Apostolic 94.7%, other Christian 4%, Yezidi (monotheist with elements of nature worship) 1.3%

oh yes, it will be ugly..I knew a gentleman who was from Brazil whose father was a nuclear engineer for the Israeli’s..
I am sure Russia’s weapons are terrible..and would certainly be catastrophic...before all life on earth is destroyed, the divine intervention..come Lord..and yes Israel is right to depend on God..
enjoyed your comments...

Oil $200 Russian oligarchs richer than god, they are all but pushing the button for an attack on Iran.

How many of the Russian oil oligarchs are Muslims. None to my knowledge. So it won’t enrich Muslims. An Israeli attack on Iran will make the oligarchs rich and Americans poor.

Why is the answer in the ME always to involve the USA? Screw the ME. If Israel wants to attack Iran, they should go for it and they should sacrifice their youth and their economy but not our youth and our economy. Thanks to Jimmy Carter they do get first dibs on our SPR.

Also Israel needs to understand that USA support in the end is based upon the public support from 310 million of us. When Americans face $20 gas and riots in the street, the target will be those who attacked Iran. Israel would be wise to understand that our interests are their interests and not vice versa

My first priority is the USA. If the ME is turned back into dust it won’t change my life and there is nothing I can do about it. I support Israel but it’s a distant second to my family.

Our military forces have every country with any interest in the current situation covered. As the world political situation stands now, the USA will defend Israel in any involvement with Iran. And trust me, that I would love to see the world to come very soon. Russia won't get physically involved.

"An Israeli attack on Iran will make the oligarchs rich and Americans poor."

An Iran with nuclear weapons would keep oil prices higher for a very long time. China is aware of and more concerned with that than we are.

"Also Israel needs to understand that USA support in the end is based upon the public support from 310 million of us."

Most Americans Support Right of Jews to Live and Build in Judea-Samaria
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/927783/posts
June 10, 2003
"By a margin of nearly five to one, Americans oppose the Bush administration's demand to halt all further Jewish construction in Judea-Samaria (the West Bank) and Gaza . . . The poll, carried out by John McLaughlin & Associates, surveyed a scientific sample of 1,000 American adults on May 21, 2003.

Most Americans don't feel the way that you do about it. Besides,...

U.S. Energy Information Administration
"How dependent are we on foreign oil?
The United States imported about 49% of the petroleum,1 which includes crude oil and refined petroleum products, that we consumed during 2010. About half of these imports came from the Western Hemisphere. Our dependence on foreign petroleum has declined since peaking in 2005.
"

The costs of denazifying Iran are already accounted for, and most of them, already spent. It's a done deal with only the date of that unfinished business remaining for the world to guess about.

Iran's nukes are our interest, BTW.

Iran is also about 1/5th size of the continental US in land mass. That makes them about twice the size of Texas.

Yep. It's also 3x the size of Iraq, and we never settled that country down.

That support will change when gasoline hits $20. You sacrifice your kids then. I’m not willing to sacrifice mine for any other nation except the USA.

Where does all this concern for other countries originate?

BTW I don’t care what China thinks about the price of oil.

Our base problem in the USA is a government of lobbyists and traitors in DC that worry more about China and others than our own. I don’t care about the ME either. They can turn it into pile of molten glass as far as I’m concerned. Our USA is going to hxll in a handbasket and the ME should be the last of our concerns.

If push comes to shove and we removed the global oil traders and profiteers from having access to trade our energy, and if we kept our gas and oil in the USA, we’d do just fine.

I’ll say again. I don’t care what the Russians, Muslims or Chinese or those from any other nation but the USA think. Only family and the USA counts.

It is the West vs Islam. Israel and Europe have huge Muslim problems and are our allies in this. The Muslims conquered Spain because the Christian Kingdoms were divided
And what you serve up is lame and simplistic talk I can find on a bumper sticker — but do carry on. The Muslims like what you say. You are already halfway towards submitting to Islam

................

Sorry I don’t think so, but neither am I halfway to believing that the USA needs to continue to be involved in the entangling alliances that George Washington warned us and told us to avoid in his farewell address.

http://www.foreignaffairs.com/articles/24183/david-fromkin/entangling-alliances

“Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations-entangling alliances with none.”

The USA has been put on the ropes with our entangling alliances that in the end do nothing for Americans. Europe and Israel and others can take care of their own until we have the money to take care of our own.

Done heard it all before my friend. If you want nothing to do with foreign oil and foreign made computers and iPads then throw them into a ditch. Until then we are “entangled”. Ron Paul is an idiot on this though he correct on the Federal Reserve

So your ostrich is outdated
