At this point Perry is either deliberately sabotaging himself or he is too lazy and/or stupid to realize that you need to actually work hard to prepare for policy discussions.

This is slovenly.

Told Wife almost same thing before debate started, are the wannabes out of their freaken minds? The LSM at all levels are out to destroy them, yet they line up like lemmings to get impaled on the fork, makes no bloody sense.

Was it that big a deal with them when Obama couldn’t remember what year it was?

It WOULD be a big deal if the Republicans would only use it against King Barry. It would make a GREAT campaign ad. But, alas, that will never happen.

How does this compare with Obama saying there are 57 states?
That's an easy question and I think I could answer it if it were sprung on me up on stage with lights shining in my face and TV cameras pointed at me (and yes, I have lectured in universities, so I know what it feels like, a little bit).

The answer is that Obama has (and will have) the full weight and power of the collective mass media of the United States of America on his side, while any Republican candidate running against Obama will have the full weight and power of the collective mass media of the United States of America aimed squarely at him/her like heavy artillery in a major military battle.

Wait, let me amend that, the full weight and power of the collective mass media of Canada, the United States and Europe.

Let me be the first to clue you in on something: Perry cannot go up against Obama in a campaign and win.

I like Perry. But I like a lot of people. Like isn't the deciding factor here. It's what Buckley said, it's the best conservative who can win.

I do believe Perry is a good conservative (despite all the iddy biddy widdy hurt feelings here in FR about the "heartless" remark) but he cannot win.

He cannot win.

He cannot win.

Or how many states there are.

Did you really do this by pasting a French article into google language tools?

If so, not bad. I’m impressed.

......He cannot win. ...

And this is based not on his record (which you say is conservative and you have said Rick Perry would be a great president) but on the MSM zeroing in on a "brain freeze" and nothing else he said during the debate.

I like Rick but America doesn't need another President that has to read prepared speeches off a couple of idiot boards.

And we need presidents making daily speeches why?

I guess when you aren’t working you have time to go out and glibly insult and lie to the American people — and get real good at it.

It’s not based on this single moment.

I’ve been saying for weeks that just as Reagan was the Great Cimmunicator, Perry is the Great Non-Communicator.

This is the 21st century. The full weight and power of the media is against us. Our guy has to be able to communicate.

You want another bumbling Bush? Perry is worse than Bush.

Okay. You vote for the talker. I’ll vote for the man who has walked the walk.

If Perry gets the nomination I will work for him, I will donate money to him and I will vote for him.

But I don’t believe he can win either the nomination or the presidency if he is nominated.

I like the guy, I’m sickened by some of the worst of his critics here in FR, but I can’t support him for the nomination.

My choice is Newt. I know his flaws, and I know they’ll get listed again and again, but right now he’s my choice.

The Cain stories were also in the foreign press

I hope Perry hangs in there. There is a debate Saturday on national security and Foreign Policy. He said he used to be in the Air Force, and is ready for the debate.

Aside from his gaffe last night, the rest of his answers were good. I'm sure he knows there are 50 states.

I know you’ve said positive things about Gov. Perry but I must disagree that the electorate won’t vote for Rick Perry, the man who has governed Texas through this depression - where almost half of the jobs have been filled and the economy stands in stark contrast to the rest of our economy, over the man who has presided over the systematic destruction of our economy, national security and standing in the world, and is currently working up his base to riot against the working sector of America.

I will direct this to you, because I know you are a Perry fan. I am truly sorry about what happened to Perry last night at the debate. I would not wish that upon any of the candidates. That kind of thing happens to all of us and I do hope people put it into perspective.

Thank you.

It really bit.

But you are correct about putting it into perspective.

Framed in this way, that Perry’s drop-out is the major story, and not the [obviously faked up] charges against Herman Cain, then we see that Perry took a major blow to save Cain.

For by Perry’s mistake the bad-mouthers’ attack against Cain has taken a major hit itself, for it relies only on media momentum.

Well... drudge has it headlined big time.

Tell me if you can; internationally does Obama gaffes and crimes make the front page news much less headlines?

Does the world know what a screw up Obama is in the highest extreme that makes Carter look good?

If they don’t... tell them Obama should be impeached and America does not want Obama.

Right now Perry is at 7% in the polls (before last night). I guess if Cain totally implodes, for whatever reason, those numbers could go up and Perry might actually have a chance of winning a state or two, and then gaining some momentum and actually go on to win the nomination. I don’t see that happening (if Cain implodes, I think most of his votes will go to Newt, mine already has, and not because of the scumbag lying whores but because I just don’t like 999), but let’s say it does. Let’s say by some strange confluence of events Perry goes from his current 7% (maybe less after last night) to winning the nomination.

If that happens, you know that Obama will shred Perry in the debates. Now I know, many people say, debates aren’t everything. There are TV ads, and Perry is good at those. But Obama is not too shabby at those either. And Obama has the full weight and power of the media on his side.

And... Obama will shred Perry in the debates.

Debates don’t matter?

I submit to you that the Ford/Carter election was very close until after Ford’s gaffe about Poland in the debate. It gave people on the fence a reason to go for Carter.

And I submit to you that Perry’s drop from front runner to 7% (maybe less after last night) was DIRECTLY related to the debates.

Directly.

Debates matter.

Obama will shred Perry in the debates, assuming that Perry could get that far.

But Perry can’t get that far. And you know why? Because people know that debates matter, and people know that Obama will shred Perry in the debates.
