At any rate, a close English approximation. This seemed to be top story in French news this a.m. their time, following the Euro crisis news (at least judging from their website).

The point I am trying to make is how quickly this story is spreading internationally.

He reminds me of a dozen Washington Redskin quarterbacks who have come to pass and aren’t ever remembered by anyone. He’s got the skills to be a Texas governor and not much else.

My question is why do these Repubs jump at the chance to a debate with the enemy in charge ( CNN , MSNBC , etc...) ? Like sheep to the slaughter .

Was it that big a deal with them when Obama couldn’t remember what year it was?

I will say I liked the Lincoln-Douglas format the other night, and I think other candidates should be in that forum. What was the story? Were not a number of them invited, but they declined? That is the way to go, that’s what I think. Those moderators were nasty.

BBC reported it, Matzav in Israel, and other international news outlets (when Obama forgot what year it was (2008).

Though I didn’t see it , I agree that a quasi Lincoln-Douglas format is the way to go . Screw the commie run alphabet networks !

I’m sure the France would like to have Mitt at president of the United States.

He speaks French.

Maybe Huntsman can be his VP.

He speaks Mandarin Chinese.

He probably has the skills to be a good president, but he just doesn’t have the ability to communicate those skills.

How does this compare with Obama saying there are 57 states?

I was embarrassed for Rick hated to see that happen but in these debates you have to be on your A game and he’s really having trouble. I like him and have defended him against all the shots he gets for his handling of the Texas border, being from Texas and having spent many years along the border I feel I have fair knowledge of what he and the citizens of Texas are really facing. With that said I’m afraid it’s time for him to get back to Texas and get back to work. I like Herman Cain and there is no doubt in my mind he would make a fine president but I’m not sure he will be able to withstand the barrage he’s receiving, it doesn’t look like it’s easing up. Newt has been a little shaky in the past but I think he’s learned his lesson well, his past marital problems are not a concern to me hell I’ve had my own. Newt knows government in and out and has the best overall qualification of any of the other candidates. As for Mitt he’s the one that’s easiest for me to dismiss for the simple fact that I just don’t trust him.

I wonder the same.

The Cain/Gingrich talks were actually a pleasure to watch and VERY informative.

Any time else it's just the MSM telling you who is best and who isn't via THEIR standards instead of just letting an individual form their own opinions.

6 of 1, 1/2 dozen of the other I would say. Problem with the problem with poor Rick is that it just made so many people feel uncomfortable, embarrassed and sad for him. Even poor Ron Paul there was trying to thrown him a lifeline. It seemed to go on for a lifetime, a real deer in the headlights moment.

I don't doubt that!

Still shilling that worn-out Perry spinner talking point, I see - that Perry was the only alternative to Romney.

Rick keeps swinging and missing. Turns out he was NO alternative - you don't get to run the bases if you can't even put the ball into play. Meanwhile both Cain AND Newt are surging. Looks like there are two, count 'em, TWO viable alternative candidates emerging - and Perry ain't one of them.

How on earth was this particular epic fail of Perry’s the fault of the moderators in this debate? It was a simple question asking specifics to reduce the size of government, and not loaded in the least.

I am sad for the governor. That was a terribly embarassing moment. It could be nerves or anxiety, or at worst, something neurological. Whatever the cause, it’s very sad to see someone hung up like that on international stage.

A Lincoln-Douglas format is a 2 person debate.
