STATE COLLEGE, Pa (Reuters) - The lawyer for the Penn State football coach charged with child sex abuse said in an interview on Monday the boy at the center of a 2002 incident detailed in the grand jury's report had been identified and said it never happened.

Jerry Sandusky, the former defensive coordinator for the Penn State Nittany Lions, was arrested more than a week ago on charges he sexually abused eight young boys over a 15-year period.

Speaking to sportscaster Bob Costas, Joe Amendola, who represents Sandusky, said "we anticipate we're going to have at least several of those kids come forward and say, 'This never happened.'"

Sandusky, in a telephone interview with Costas that aired at the same time, acknowledged he had horsed around and showered with children involved in the Second Mile charity he founded.

But he denied he was a pedophile.

Nice try. Are you a contributor to the Second Mile org? Have you ushered young fatherless boys into sports? Are you Lanny Davis? Are you Scott Ritter? Do you realize how deceitful your posting is when you deny what is actually in the Granbd Jury Presentments from testimonies taken under oath? Yes, you’re vermin.

Two lies in one post. Speaks volumes about you.

Not as much as your lack of attention says about you. READ POST #160.

Do try to keep up: I'm using the smallest words I can.

There are multiple liabilities and yes, it does imply groups of people in the wrong.

Justice will not prevail where the innocent are deprived their liberties in order to afford the criminal more freedom than the innocent.

An indictment is an accusation, no more and no less. Further, Cain isn’t having legal charges pressed against him, so even if there were video footage of him doing what he’s been accused of, there would be indictment.

It is not an indication of evidence.

Post #160 doesn’t change a thing. You’ve stooped to lying on this thread...twice so far.

In North Carolina grand jury system bears little resemblance to the system in PA; it’s nothing more than a revolving door with few if any witnesses. There are no records of the proceedings.

The Sandusky grand jury spent time to call witnesses, record and review their testimony, and report findings. That didn’t happen in the Duke case.

Why, out of the blue, would the President of the Second Mile Charity foundation quit ?

Wasn’t in a huff of indignation, I tell you that.

A Grand Jury accusation carries a bit more weight than the lies of harpies and their handlers, don’t you agree?

“there would be NO indictment”

Is what I meant.

None of the proponents in these threads have been suggesting Sandusky and a complement of others involved don’t have their day in court, nor their opportunity to court appointed defense counsel or counsel they procure.

I think the only thing those events have in common are the words “Grand Jury.”

This is several orders of magnitude worse than the (supposed/accused) Duke situation...

Do you think this case will never be tried?

A grand jury is an investigative body, not a trier of fact. That's a simple definition. If you don't understand the difference between a petite jury and a grand jury why are you posting here? Nifong also had a grand jury, and he also had sworn testimony.

Now with the baseless name calling [thanks for losing the argument.]

OK, I'm vermin; you're a tag-along in a lynch mob.

I don’t know where you get your “reasonable reading” from. It’s a given where the kids are coming from, which is why he says Second Mile. It’s not a given where the donors are coming from, or if Second Mile and Penn State have some of the same donors. He doesn’t clearly state whose donors he’s referring to, I’ll grant that, but the words “big money” lead me to believe that he’s talking about the school, not the infinitely smaller charity with fewer “big money” donors. Time will tell.

Now answer the question I asked you, if you can. Eight victms, another dozen coming, two eyewitnesses (McQueary and a janitor) all describing Jerry Sandusky committing sex crimes against boys between the ages of 8 and 12 years old. Give me some basis for reasonable doubt. I’m waiting.

But Ohio State always has Michigan to look down on them. It’s tougher for OSU to make the “We’re better because we say so and don’t be so stupid to ask why” argument. My personal opinion is Penn State is in a class by itself. The only other school I’d put in its category is UVA.

I just heard him on theTV say that he showered and ‘hugged’ kids and ‘horsed around’ in the shower with them.
This happened in the last ten years. The man is in his sixties. At what point is this a smoking gun.

I have no doubt that he will have a defense and a vigorous one. Even the likes of John Wayne Gasey, Anthony Sowell & Jeffrey J. Marsalis had strong legal representation and they had NO MONEY. Regardless of the heinous crime there is always an advocate. That is our system.

The court must see the accused as innocent until proved guilty. I as a private citizen not subject to the rules of the court in PA am free to form and express my own opinion. To not think that it is likely that this man is a child rapist makes no sense what so ever. .

No, I personally can’t be swayed into thinking someone is guilty or innocent based on accusations or denials.

If you want to lend weight to concepts of law such as what a grand jury’s accusations mean, then you have have to lend considerably more weight to the presumption of innocence in America.

Yes, he is. Or at least was.

McQueary also told the team he’s not at the University, but in protective custody after receiving several threats … and “double fisting” booze.

Report: Mike McQueary in protective custody, won’t coach again

Exactly. There’s no way, at this point, to be sure of the identity of that victim, except perhaps to get an identification from McQueary, and that’s might be difficult considering the circumstances and how long has passed. I’m not inclined to take Sandusky or his lawyer’s word on this.
