EU: Water does NOT hydrate
The Telegraph ^ | 11/18/11 | Victoria Ward and Nick Collins

Posted on 11/19/2011 4:36:52 PM PST by Cato in PA

EU officials concluded that, following a three-year investigation, there was no evidence to prove the previously undisputed fact.

Producers of bottled water are now forbidden by law from making the claim and will face a two-year jail sentence if they defy the edict, which comes into force in the UK next month.

Last night, critics claimed the EU was at odds with both science and common sense. Conservative MEP Roger Helmer said: “This is stupidity writ large.

“The euro is burning, the EU is falling apart and yet here they are: highly-paid, highly-pensioned officials worrying about the obvious qualities of water and trying to deny us the right to say what is patently true.

“If ever there were an episode which demonstrates the folly of the great European project then this is it.”

3 year study said water does not hydrate.

wow.

That is probably the most stupidity you can fit into a space without causing a blackhole to form.

I thought you needed electrolytes in water to hydrate. Water alone (filtered bottle water has all minerals removed) doesn’t have enough. Wasn’t that the reason GatorAide was developed for athletes?

And what exactly does “hydrate” mean? (Can you answer that question without using the word “water?”)

EU dictionary replaces Webster`s:

1887 Webster Dictionary: hydrate- to combine with water

Of course, if you use the acronym DHMO

More of the EU trying to control everything. They won’t stop unless they’re stopped by an external power.

Stay away from water: it fails to hydrate.

This is the sort of insanity we have to look forward to if Obongo wins another term.

Many of our Republican contenders are not exactly pillars of scientific knowledge. One even did a "Global Warming" Ad.

This is basically what happens when you have a legislative body that crafts laws based on the demands of the highest bidder.

I'm looking at you, Nasty Pelosi and Hairy Reed.

Sodium and potassium regulate water inside and outside of the cell. Sugar replaces glycogen which is burned during sports. Gatorade was made for athletes. A normal person doesn’t need Gatorade. Water and proper nutrition are fine. You can get plenty of sodium and potassium from food.

“Water alone (filtered bottle water has all minerals removed) doesn’t have enough.”

Most of the bottled water in this country has NOT had all minerals removed. In fact, most of it is just spring water. The only thing you are buying that is different than ordinary tap water is that is does not have chlorine and fluoride added. We own some property about a mile from where one of the better known brands is pumped out of the ground. Our well could be the same water.
