Twitter Deeply Confused at 'Union Leader Endorses Gingrich' Headline
Gawker ^ | 11/27/11

The old trolls at the Manchester Union Leader -- New Hampshire's largest paper -- have endorsed Newt Gingrich in the state's upcoming Republican primary. But the pundits on Twitter still had questions!...

@jaketapper if a union boss says yes 2 Gingrich, that's reason enuff for conservative voters 2 say no #tcot

The unions are now endorsing Newt...WTH

Newt Gingrich Endorsed By New Hampshire Union Leader http://t.co/8sb727vK I thought the GOP considered 'unions the problem with America" !

Why in the world would a union leader back Newt or any republican candidate for that matter?

Is it some type of rope a dope or deception why would a union boss be endorsing any Republican Candidate let alone Newt? #tcot #tlot

Just shows the lack of knowledge of these folks and that they don’t read below the headline. Perhpaps this is proof that many tweeters are just “twits.”

A lot of stupid and uninformed people vote. That’s the scariest facet of our system. The fact that we have survived so long is proof of the miraculous power of the law of averages to balance out their impact and the wisdom of our Founding Fathers in designing the system as they did—not as a democracy, but as a republic.

Then there's the next level of folks who think the Union Leader is still a conservative paper.

Along those lines in Au it is compulsory to vote. If you don't you are fined.

Brings back memories of the Good Ole Days (tm) like Mike Muskie crying outside the Union Leader offices in the snow:

Twice now. The first time it was all the way with John McCain. Guess they know a winner when they endorse one. ;-)

“A lot of stupid and uninformed people vote. That’s the scariest facet of our system.”

I can imagine the very same words were posted over at some sewer of a lib blog; DU, etc. when a conservative wins.

In fact, one could make the argument that the people who are voting themselves $$ out of the public treasury are ‘smart’, in the sense of ‘greedy smart’...still, stupid in the long run - for killing the golden goose.

They are just gaming the system to their advantage (and the Republic’s disadvantage).

So, it’s not that stupidity is so scary... it’s institutionalized sloth and greed. Go spend an hour or so in a wic office, or any other place the entitlement crowd signs up for bennies. Follow the one that swipes the foodstamp ‘card’ for groceries out to the parking lot...

They’ve got more ‘stuff’ than most of the rest of us do. Sorry, FRiend. Didn’t mean to make your head explode :)
