Bill O’Reilly On New Allegation: ‘I Don’t Think Herman Cain Can Survive Any More Of This’
Mediaite ^ | Nov.28, 2011 | Frances Martel

While Newt Gingrich‘s unexpected rise to the top of the Republican primary ladder had taken the spotlight off of the numerous sexual allegations against Herman Cain for some time, but that problem came barreling back into headlines today as Cain himself broke the news of a new accusation: a thirteen-year affair.

On tonight’s Factor, Bill O’Reilly had some pessimistic remarks on the matter, wondering whether “Herman Cain can survive any more of this.”

Joined by panelists Leslie Marshall and Janine Turner, O’Reilly noted that on his program they were “not going to get into this,” meaning the details of the affair, but did note it “is a legitimate question” whether “Herman Cain can survive any more of this.”

The panelists expressed the same concern, as Turner noted that “especially in a conservative race, it’s going to be tough,” but that “we’ve had wonderful leaders throughout the course of our history that were great thinkers… that had affairs.”

Marshall had a more optimistic approach, noting that things look bad but “between now and November 2012 is a lifetime in politics.”

If it wasn’t true he’d have them in court. You and I would.

Yet they are saying plenty as they gloat over unproven allegations against Cain.

I have kept my peace since reading about this last night. I agree there sure seems to be a great deal of gloating, but more specifically, engaging in the Gotcha mentality. It seems as many are so eaten up with the effects of that mindset that they are now conditioned to accept it as they way to do the business of selecting a candidate.

To me it follows the same mentality as those who have a favorite NFL team until the Super Bowl and all of a sudden, the winner's paraphernalia sells by five or six times that it did before the playoffs.

Just like the others who came and went in their search for 15 minutes, this one too is very dubious. I will stand with the most conservative and non political person in the race. In my view, these politicians that now rule our lives got us into this mess, with our gullible help, and they are certainly not going to get us out of it. Our dual focus should also be on the congressional races. THROW THEM ALL OUT!

If she has any credible evidence, she should have provided it other than happening to know a cell phone number. There is something to them knowing each other and I am willing to stand by my choice until either her claims are supported, as advertised, or if Herman bows out of the race. So where to next? I don't have the need for that bridge just yet.

With all due personal respect to my friend Nathan Bedford, we will disagree for the time being on his character until I have something other than allegations against a man who is the biggest constituency threat to the current regime.

If they are all lying, why isn’t he hauling them into court where they would be required to provide some evidence of their claims?

These aren’t unnamed sources. These are specific people making specific charges.

If someone publicly accused you of cheating on your spouse with them wouldn’t you go after them with extreme prejudice legally? I sure as hell would.

While I agree we are seeing the end of the Cain campaign I find it interesting you have left Rick Perry out of your equation. He has more money than any of them and a better economic record as well as a social record on par with Bachman and Santorum. He also is the only candidate (minus Ron Paul) with military experience.

I think these hard factors will ultimately make a huge difference in this primary race.

Put a sock in it OReilly. You know as well as anyone they are lying through their teeth about Herman Cain. It’s their racial thing. They trot out their usual race card every time some one decent comes to the front. i do hope people will see through this tactic. If all else fails play the good old race card and watch the people crumble.

There is no reason not to vote for Herman Cain.

Celebrity salacious sex - sells.

Our culture is immersed in pedophilia, lesbians, homosexuals, gay marriage, shacking up, abortion, benefit babies and all manner of destructive immorality.

And a married, heterosexual male ‘perhaps’ having a risky relationship is an abomination?

Newt and Cain illustrate that careless personal behavior is often compartmentalized from professional and public discipline. Human error.

Get over it people.

I was too busy watching my Saints beat up on the Giants.

Now that's out of line!

LOL!!!

OTOH, I finally dropped the Giants DST from my fantasy team. It's just too painful to watch even when they're benched...

Obviously, you have never had to bring a civil court action because you think it is something that just happens tomorrow. He has the very best defamation attorney in the country on retainer right now to handle these as he has a very successful record of doing. The reality is that it will never get on a docket until after the primaries so that argument just will not suffice.

Those who falsely accused him will have to pay for their attempts at defamation even though those who convinced them to go forward I’m sure have told them otherwise. It is no secret that attorneys share the basement with used car salesmen in the court of public opinion.

With the exception of the nut in Maryland, the other two are in very dire financial straights and it is obvious that someone has paid for their appearances by the hairdo’s alone. No rational person spends that kind of money for appearances in addition to opening themselves up to heaps of public scorn on the hopes of hitting the lottery. There is a funded springboard below them.

How do we know he helped her financially? My question is did he fly her all over the place and what proof does she have about that.

...a man who is the biggest constituency threat to the current regime.

He can't be too much of a threat if he's struggling his way into the primary. That doesn't bode well that he will be a strong candidate in the general election, and his wits haven't served him well in the situations he finds himself, not only with these allegations, but interviews in general. If he's this easy to damage within the field of his own base, it will be that much easier to take him down in the general election.

I don't begrudge anyone for supporting Herman Cain. When Sarah Palin announced that she wasn't running, I started leaning towards him, but it became apparent quite quickly that he has too much inexperience. People don't want excuses, they want a leader and he doesn't have the leadership skills that people are looking for. That may be a hard pill to swallow for some, but it's the truth.

This notion that Herman Cain poses some kind of special threat to Obama is simply naive.

That will be made known shortly no doubt. But Cain informed his wife about the woman after he was informed this new scandal was going to hit the news....her response was..”Here we go again”..and that was via Cain.

Tell ya what, people are in DEEP DENIAL if they support a candidate beside Herman Cain, but privately or publicly cheer this on (even if they suspect it is a groundless, manufactured, well-timed smear) just so their person can get traction, because BELIEVE ME, they (the professional mudslingers) will then just move on down the line to the NEXT CONSERVATIVE PERSON who threatens their power the most. These are serious people, folks. They control a huge megaphone, and it does not matter if it is true or not, if they are out to destroy someone they will destroy them. To encourage such an attack does not isolate ones’ ownself from also being a victim in the very near future by the LIBDEM/RINO Hit Machine.

I'm with you FRiend. Cain is not my #1 choice, but I dont like these allegations at ALL. This is just a preview of whats going to happen to the eventual Republican nominee, no matter WHO it is.

Just his part in the next administration and an example to that constituency is a threat not only to Obama, but also the entire welfare state and its pimps who perpetuate it. That is not naive, it is reality.

Right now I am walking the top of the fence with Cain on one side and Gingrich on the other. I actually have both stickers on my truck. Newt’s town hall in Charleston yesterday is weighing very heavily on tilting me but I said I will be undecided as a formal commitment until January 31st and I can just as easily replace those stickers for others.

But that was an inspiring presentation he made and it also propelled someone into the second seat consideration I had not thought of. The best part was actually in the last of the four videos posted elsewhere on this forum this morning.

Well worth the time to watch all four, especially those who question his stance on immigration, for everyone.

Newt won win with your vote unless you’re a liar and a hypocrite. You said a man who has affairs is unfit for the office.

So now it’s only if he had affairs I didn’t know about? lol

Pathetic

You must also realize that by shutting down the government and the
media frenzy it lost us the house and Newt was destroyed in the press!!!
I can hear it all now if he ends up with the nomination, he shut down
The government everyone’s goodies are in danger!!!! There are just
far to many sheeple on the government programs getting them off is going to take a long time. Unfortunately Newt is doomed when the press gets
a hold of him!!!!!!
