Nuke Update: “China Will Not Hesitate To Protect Iran With A Third World War”
SHTF Plan ^ | 12/01/2011 | Mac Slavo

UPDATE: December 1, 2011; 10:00AM

Amid the tensions in Iran and the destruction of a second nuclear facility (which is detailed in the original story below), we find it necessary to present our readers with an update made available via The Daily Crux and Zero Hedge, in which Major General Zhang Zhaozhong, a professor from the Chinese National Defense University, said China “will not hesitate to protect Iran even with a third World War.”

Trillions of dollars in debt and regional energy resources are at play here. Perhaps this is the reason Iran is publicly downplaying the threat and the U.S. is overtly ignoring the latest bombing/explosion at a second Iranian nuclear facility. Not a single news report of the incident is present on the homepages of major media outlets like CNN, NBC, ABC or Fox. For their part, Iran completely denies the explosion took place and national media agencies have reportedly pulled all references to the story, even though satellite images (detailed below) confirm it happened.

Don’t miss this Chinese news report. Like the U.S., China has its own propaganda machine and this is what their populace is being fed:

(In Chinese with English subtitles):

ORIGINAL REPORT: Covert Op Suspected as Second Iranian Nuke Site Goes Up In Flames

Either Iran’s nuclear and military programs are headed by imbeciles or their country is under attack.

Though Iran completely denied the incident yesterday, The Australian reports that satellite images confirm another Iranian military site has exploded:

Satellite imagery seen by The Times confirmed that a blast that rocked the city of Isfahan on Monday struck the uranium enrichment facility there, despite denials by Tehran.

The images clearly showed billowing smoke and destruction, negating Iranian claims yesterday that no such explosion had taken place. Israeli intelligence officials told The Times that there was “no doubt” that the blast struck the nuclear facilities at Isfahan and that it was “no accident”.

The explosion at Iran’s third-largest city came as satellite images emerged of the damage caused by one at a military base outside Tehran two weeks ago that killed about 30 members of the Revolutionary Guard, including General Hassan Moghaddam, the head of the Iranian missile defence program.

Iran claimed that the Tehran explosion occurred during testing on a new weapons system designed to strike at Israel. But several Israeli officials have confirmed that the blast was intentional and part of an effort to target Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

On Monday, Isfahan residents reported a blast that shook tower blocks in the city at about 2.40pm and seeing a cloud of smoke rising over the nuclear facility on the edge of the city.

“This caused damage to the facilities in Isfahan, particularly to the elements we believe were involved in storage of raw materials,” said one military intelligence source.

He would not confirm or deny Israel’s involvement in the blast, instead saying that there were “many different parties looking to sabotage, stop or coerce Iran into stopping its nuclear weapons program”.

Iran went into frantic denial yesterday as news of the explosion at Isfahan emerged. Alireza Zaker-Isfahani, the city’s governor, claimed that the blast had been caused by a military exercise in the area but state-owned agencies in Tehran soon removed this story and issued a government denial that any explosion had taken place at all.

A government cover up? Say it ain’t so.

There’s a war on. This was no accident.

The real question is, how, if at all, will Iran respond? Are they biding their time because they are finalizing a nuclear weapon that they intend to deploy against Israel or Western targets, or has all the machisimo displayed by Iranian President Ahmadinejad in recent years been nothing but talk?

We may soon find out.

I’ve had the same answer to this type of bloviating for the last 40 years.

(at which time I was in the last 2 months of Nuke Weapons school)

To China:
“If you think we’re going to stand by and allow Iran to blackmail the world with the threat of nuclear weapons and your backing, you have miscalculated our will and our capability.”

Not really more suicidal. It’s just that they can afford to lose 300 million people.

Still leaves 70% of the population, after all.

One of China’s generals publicly stated that 300 million was an “acceptable loss”.

“Yet the Chinese have to deal with their own Muslims.”

The combined Chinese police forces have only slightly less funding than their entire military; which buys subs, planes and navy ships. So, you can only imagine how many millions of police they pay. They are probably confident that they can contain the Muslim population as they are willing to kill hundreds, thousands, or potentially millions. They do fear insurrection, but not nearly as much as they want to project power and strength. Right now, they need Iran’s oil more than they fear either us (currently a paper tiger) or their own Muslim population.

I believe the Chinese government is the same style brutal killers they were for much of the 20th century. Except now they wear pinstripe suits and speak excellent English. They also own our debt and their military is growing by leaps and bounds. Their military has already probably reached the point where any fight could be quickly carried to US shores as easily as we can reach them. They will also fight asymmetrically with mines that will cost us much if we try the traditional show of strength that has caused them to back down.

Before somebody makes an allusion to turning them into a glass parking lot, think through that two-way street.

I think you are on to something there.

I was just reading Revelations 6 and I can imagine a synario where someone in Israel is represented as being on the White horse, followed by either China or Islam reacting on the Red horse, which is followed by the World economy collapsing with the arrival of the Black horse, which of course, brings about Death from sword and hunger on the Grey horse.

I believe that the beginning of the end is closer then many people realize.

When the Chinese are full of bluster and belligerence you are OK. It is when they get quiet and pretend to be your best friend that you have to worry about what it is they are plotting.

Gee, if we have WWIII with China and the middle east does this mean we can stop Free Trade, or does Free Trade “uber alles” take precedence? /sarcasm

You’re quite right.

I forgot his name, but he was the General in charge of the nuclear weapons systems.

And yes, in Chinese military thinking, 300 million is “acceptable losses”.

Somehow, I don’t think the USA would find 300 million dead Americans to be so equally “acceptable”.

In the game of war, last man standing wins.

This is actually why I don't put too much stock in this story. Not because the leaders of China are nice guys, in contrast because they are both smart and brutal. If they wanted the US to back off they wouldn't do it by having some third rate professor tweet about it in a fourth rate newspaper. President Hu would pick up the phone, call Obama and tell him to Back the F___ off. And like a good little toad Obama would do it.

If Obama somehow grew a pair didn't bow instantly to his Asian overlords they would call his master, George Soros, and point out that they could have him dead in a matter of days if his puppet Obama doesn't do exactly as he is told. We play by rules so against the West Soros is safe. Jerk the Chinese around and you just end up dead.

Incidentally, there’s a report floating around there in the ether that states it’s now believed that the PRC may have as many as 3000 nuclear weapons.

If that were the case, that gives them more than adequate first and second strike capability.

Here’s a link to the story regarding the alleged 3000 nukes....it’s from India (naturally, they’re sorta freaking out about it). http://indiatoday.intoday.in/video/china-nuclear-warheads/1/162319.html

President Hu would pick up the phone, call Obama and tell him to Back the F___ off.
__________________________________________________________

Maybe President Hu did. HU knows? (couldn’t resist. sorry)

I’d say if nothing happens in the next 3 to 6 months, like an Israeli airstrike (overt military action) versus things mysteriously exploding in Iran (covert military action), then President Hu most likely called PM Netanyahu and told him to back the f____ off.

The Israelis (or anyone else) aren’t going to risk a nuke war with China.

But I think for the Chinese, covert military action is acceptable. You know, deniability and all that. Of course, if China were to sign an explicit and open defense treaty with Iran, well that changes the equation. That would put Iran under China’s nuclear umbrella (and also make Iran China’s b!+ch).
