For Herman Cain, the campaign all but over
Associated Press ^ | Dec 1,2011 | SHANNON McCAFFREY

ATLANTA (AP) -- Herman Cain is still campaigning for president. But by most measures, his White House bid is all but over.

His standing in polls is cratering. Supporters are wavering if not fleeing. Fundraising is suffering.

And, these days, the former pizza company executive is less a serious candidate than the butt of late-night comedy jokes after a string of accusations of sexually inappropriate behavior and, now, an allegation of a 13-yearlong extramarital affair.

"His chance at winning the presidency are effectively zero," said Dave Welch, a Republican strategist who worked on both of John McCain's presidential bids.

Why you so worried? I’ve been watching the main stream for years. I don’t know which is worse, the cover ups or the attacks? Anyway, I’m not ready to believe known liars. I give Herman more than the benefit of doubt.

Worried about what? I see the numbers and they are not good for Cain. I guess I am going to accused of being a member of the establishment.

Drudge is my home page and when I just logged in my heart sank. But once again this is the MSM declaring that his candidacy is over, not Cain himself.

Even if Cain DID have an affair, I still would take Cain for president over Romney. Or Newt. At this point in time, the importance of a president who would uphold the Constitution of the United States of America supersedes supposed personal marital indiscretion. And if people hold this against Cain they could not in turn vote for Newt.

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Godfather’s was supposed to go bankrupt.

Stage 4 colon cancer was supposed to kill him too.

His whole life is a story of defeating the odds.

Cain 2012!!

If Herman stays in the race, he has my vote, and that is all the **** there is to it.

No disrespect, but if Santorum and Bachmann were considered viable candidates, their numbers would be somewhere near 15 or 20 percent and not in the basement.

And they’d likely not be trying to be pure candidates.

I am still on the Cain train, but Bachman would be the only other viable candidate imho. We need to push her as the first real woman president. The antithesis of what Hillary! would have been... the first wino (woman in name only) president!

If you have seen the numbers, then why do you worry what Cain supporters think? I don’t see anyone getting upset that Perry still has supporters? Go embrace your candidate and leave us alone.

You have to admit, McCain campaign managers are experts on zero chances. He was likely pushing for Lieberman as VP,

Pray for Cain

Amen! He's stared at the jaws of death and fought back.

Don't think some pitiful skanks making bogus allegations are going to stop him.

Whether anyone liked Santorum enough to support him or not...looks like there is a strong possibilty he will withdraw...very sad news. GOP hopeful Rick Santorum campaigns with a seriously ill daughter at home

By Melinda Henneberger

SIOUX CITY, IOWA — At the lectern in a packed convention center last month, Rick Santorum spoke haltingly, not for the first or the last time, about his seriously ill youngest daughter, Isabella , who has the genetic disorder Trisomy 18. Half of all children with the chromosomal anomaly, more common in girls, are stillborn. And of those who do survive, only one in 10 makes it to her first birthday.
