Pastors charged after telling 'gays' about sin (facing bench trial in court run by lesbian)

Two veteran street preachers in Houston are facing a bench trial for spreading the biblical message about homosexuality – and other sins – on one of their favorite corners for preaching in Houston.

That the message was direct is obvious, from a photo of the situation that developed for David Stokes of BulldogMinistries.com and Dave Allen of HornofSamuelBook.com:

Their sign warns those who are "Drunks, homosexuals, abortionist, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, witches, idolators" that "Hell awaits you."

Their hearing will be in Houston Municipal Court, which is run by Barbara E. Hartle, who, according to the Dallas Voice, is listed by the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund as "one of only a few out members of the Texas judiciary."

She was appointed to the position by Houston Mayor Annise Parker, identified by the Los Angeles Times as "the first lesbian to head a major American city."

I agree with you. IMHO, homosexuality is a sexual dysfunction, and closely tied with self-image problems. So many of them are narcissists and exhibitionists. Of course, they don’t see it.

When you see them running around half naked, being flamboyant, and jumping on one another in public, many of them somehow think they are doing what “straights” do - because their thinking about sexuality is deranged. Many of them don’t have any idea how they are viewed by normal folk.

I do believe that this is far less incendiary than the infamous Fred Phelps / Westboro Baptist Church “free speech” which was ruled within the First Amendment.

"Abusers of themselves with mankind" is a circumlocution for what is one word in the Greek: arsenokoitai. It is a rare word--Liddell & Scott cite only the passage in I Cor. and the Palatine Anthology (9.686)--there is it rendered "sodomite." The Intermediate Liddell-Scott Lexicon has "lying with men." The first element means "male" and koite means "bed," "marriage-bed," or "lasciviousness."

An earlier English translation of the Bible had "bugger" instead of the KJV's circumlocution.

Obviously when James Madison put “freedom of speech” and “freedom of religion” in the 1st amendment, he never expected anyone to abuse those rights by quoting the Bible to condemn homosexuality. He assumed people would stick to nice uncontroversial texts like “peace on earth” or “the Lord is my shepherd” or “slaves, obey your masters.”

My Pastor says in the next 5 years he will be prosecuted for preaching from the book of Romans...

I have always thought he was right.

Oh and he will preach even if prosecuted.
