San Antonio, TX – A young woman was fired from a Macy’s department store for refusing to violate her religious beliefs by permitting a young man dressed as a woman from entering the women’s dressing room. Natalie Johnson claims she saw the young man walk out of the women’s fitting room and politely told him that he could not go back in because it was for women only. The cross-dressing young man claimed that he is a “female.” Johnson said that he was wearing make-up and girl’s clothing, but clearly he was a male. The cross-dresser was accompanied by five other individuals. The group argued with expletives that Macy’s is LGBT-friendly, to which Johnson replied that Macy’s is also non-discriminatory toward religion, and that it would go against her religious beliefs to lie that he was a woman or compromise with homosexuality. The group then demanded to speak with a manager.
When Johnson was confronted by her employer, she explained that she could not allow a male to change in a female’s fitting room. Johnson’s boss referred her to Macy’s LGBT policy which allows “transgender” people to change in any dressing room they want. However, Johnson pointed out that the same policy also protects against religious discrimination and, in this case, it protects her right to her beliefs that were being violated. The manager demanded that she comply with the LGBT policies or lose her job. Johnson refused to go against her sincerely held religious beliefs and was terminated from her job.

My question to Macy's is why is it better to pander to these handful of degenerates by letting them use the woman's dressing room where I am sure the female customers are none to pleased to have men roaming around?
The solution is to post fliers outside Macy’s warning women that Macy’s allows sexual perverts freely to use its women’s restrooms.

No, the solution is for conservative women to boycott Macy's for any Christmas shopping. Use the Web to spread the message to women peer-to-peer, let Macy's know why, and shop elsewhere.

If I were a female of a more traditional bent, this sure wouldn’t make me feel very confident about being able to try on clothing at Macy’s without prying eyes. Men would have objected less to their room being used for this weirdo. I wonder if stupid legalities, not stupid sensibilities, are what drove this asinine action.
I can see the difficulties for a religious person of working anywhere nowadays in the secular world. They will probably have to limit themselves to places owned and run by co-religionists.
I’m in the same boat: I work at an Orthodox Jewish institution, although interestingly our non-Jewish employees are also traditional/conservative. Hate to say, but I can only work at these kinds of places.
Why not a third “Trans” room then, and leave the decent people alone.

Lately I’m becoming extremely sensitive about a lot of things. Just the thought of trying on clothes after they have been tried on by a trans,is repulsive. I don’t care if the dude thinks it’s a female, it has no business in a women’s dressing room unless it removes its “pen” before entering.
The solution is not patronizing Macy’s for firing someone who acted properly.

Not so much as a specific reply to you, but to all expressing a similar position. I am currently a seasonal employee at a Macy’s (was an IT project manager, thank you Obama).
Macy’s has probably been forced into this position by discrimination laws; local, federal, state - who knows. In my training it was stressed that men cannot work in the women’s departments (because of dressing room access and assistance) and in children’s only with special training and screening. There was no type of discussion about dealing with(or promoting)LGBT customers.
I have found Macy’s to be very respectful, albeit commercially, of Christmas and service to the customers. Saying and meaning Merry Christmas is fine. Here, Macy’s is probably between a rock and a hard place, and common sense is being trumped by a well-lawyered lobby.
I would have thought that the manager would have relieved the employee and monitored the dressing room herself until the issue has passed. Perhaps there are other issues in play here too.

I’m sure there are more women that spend money of clothes than these freaks. I’m also sure the majority of them do not want men in the dressing room with them. I suggest the sales staff actually start helping actual women.
