Now we just put Palin in for interior, because she is the perfect person to control oil drilling. Rand (not Ron) Paul at Treasury to bring the money supply under control. I'd put Palin in at EPA, Energy and Interior just to watch Lib heads explode. There's no doubt in my mind that she would be able to do a good at all three.
Any other FReeper suggestions for a Conservative Cabinet?

John Bolton is advising Rick Perry on foreign policy, so if Newt wants to contact him, he can reach him through the Perry campaign.

Like I said. Newt is a mixed bag. This is definitely a good piece of fruit from the bag. I like Bolton and think he would make an excellent SOS.
Good work Gingrich.

Any other FReeper suggestions for a Conservative Cabinet? Why not have Judge Andrew Napolitano replace Janet Napolitano as chief of the TSA? The Judge would impose Constitutional limits on the weird activities of the TSA, and we could save by not having to change the official memo stationary. :)

EPA needs to be scaled back to the point where its only function would be to mediate disputes between state EPAs. You need that since pollution that doesn't stay in the state that creates it won't be a problem for the local environment, but might be a big deal for someone else. For example if Cairo Illinois dumps industrial waste into the Mississippi it doesn't impact Illinois, but it would seriously mess up Memphis Tennessee.
However the roll of moderator needs a lawyer, more than a crusader like Palin. I don't want the EPA going on crusades. I want someone who can solve problems brought to them, but who doesn't go out looking for trouble. Oddly enough a downsized EPA would be a good place to dump Romney or some other RINO. But it shouldn't be a cabinet level position. It should be at the same level as NASA.
Speaking of NASA I would recommend Harrison Schmitt. Former US Senator, Apollo astronaut, geologist and big time believer in the free market. He's 75 so not a kid, but has the been there, done that, credentials the space community. He is currently the head of the New Mexico's department of Energy, Minerals, and Natural Resources. NASA is going to have to do more with less for at least a decade and they need someone who they see as one of their own to keep things focused on space and not "Outreach" or global warming.
One issue for other conservatives being moved into cabinet jobs is that pulling people out of the house is that they are lost from those positions at the exact time we need them. Paul Ryan could be used in a dozen positions, but the big "C" Conservatives really need him most in the house at the moment.
This isn't a problem for the Democrats as they have academia and Hollywood to provide unelected liberals in unlimited quantity.
As for conservatives in the private arena there are a few who could be very useful. I say bring in someone from small business for Commerce. Doesn't have to be a big name, just someone who had built a company from the ground up. No more big business Harvard MBAs who stepped into management without ever being on the floor.

Ann Coulter for Press Secretary
Waste of talent. You don't send a lawyer, best selling author and columnist to talk to a bunch of reporters. A stand up comic can do the job quite nicely. Ann Coulter would be excellent at Labor, HHS, HUD or Education. Especially as the most important job is to shut down or drastically downsize those departments. I imagine she could wield a hatchet and look good doing it. And she wouldn't mind putting herself out of a job. Most insiders would protect their department, even if they opposed it on a philosophical level, just to maintain their clout. She can make more on the outside so it is no big deal for her to be brought in only to manage the shut down.

When he was UN Amb., I watched a two hour CSPAN of him taking on, what seemed like, the entire assembled delegations of the world, on a whole gamut of issues.
I learned from that, there are 3 things you should never do...
1. Try to pizz up a rope.
2. Fart in the wind.
3. Take on Bolton in a fact based argument.

Oops on the first post, my fingers were quicker than my brain?

OTOH, Bolton is confrontational. Not something we really need, at this time, as SOS. As well, confirmation in the Senate is not assured. Fred Thompson, for example, is someone with the smarts, experience, cred, and a less confrontational style that would serve us better and, I think, more successfully.
Bolton does have some RINO in him insofar as gay marriage, abortion, etc. goes. UN Amb. still sounds good to me.

My thoughts exactly! The contrast with the Zero Admin. is very attractive.

“Romney could never do this,”
Exactly. Romney would not make bold changes like this in the ethos of government.
Hard to imagine Romney picking top, controversial conservatives like West, Palin or Bolton for any job in the admin.
