All your “staying home” will accomplish is help elect BO and then you will have no right to complain about the results.
In the America I believe in, one is allowed to complain about (and otherwise resist) oppression in all it's forms. And one doesn't have to be someone's political tool to earn that right, it's inalienable.
I don’t know who or IF Sarah will endorse, but the significant leaders of the Palin effort in Iowa have recently signed up for Newt.
Whatever the polls say now, you can take it to the bank - if he wins the Republican nomination, Obama will be re-elected. Newt will lose disaffected Democrats, Independents and women to name three, plus everyone else who stays home. In fact, I can imagine Republicans voting for Obama easier than Dems or most Independents voting for Newt. He is one of those Republicans that is no good either ideologically or electorally. It feels like being led to the slaughter. The only more horrendous defeats would have come at the mercy of Cain, Bachmann or Santorum.
You say Newt will lose to obama and Cain, Bachmann, or Santorum would suffer even greater defeats.
So who do you think can beat obama??
Like it or not it looks like Republicans are starting to coalesce around Newt. Even Mark Levin said on his show tonight he’s OK with Newt. So am I.
Please tell me you have not made up your mind because of the polls.
You say Levin said he was OK with Newt, he and most of us would be OK if it was Newt against obama.
The last hand has not been dealt yet.
newt’s record is out there as you say... I find it lacking... you find it impressive. No problem... we just do not view newt in the same light. My bet is that we never will. That’s ok too.

Well, Huntsman would decisively trounce Obama in November if for no other reason than he is the only candidate that never wavers from his conservative convictions and looks very much like a president to most Americans not a heartless, cruel, mean, dishonest total nut.
The reason Jon comes across as a moderate with the potential for widespread support is that he’s thoughtful, intelligent, seems like a genuinely good, squeaky clean person and he has integrity. He’s respectful towards others who disagree with him and willing to listen to and work with them.
Issues do matter to some extent, but I think most voters tend to vote on whether they like the guy and whether they get the sense that he will do the right thing in a crisis environment. Being a diplomat and making on the spot decisions in unforeseeable situations might not get him the nomination but it would be right down his alley in a general election.
Probably every single reader here will vote for nearly anyone over Obama. But independents and unhappy Dems in the swing states going for Gingrich ? I don’t think so. He has simply got too many turn-offs, even for conservatives (and that is besides marring the image of the GOP for years and years).
Newt won’t even get a sizable chunk of the Republican vote, particularly women. People will either be staying home or writing in candidates which is the long way around voting Obama.
Gingrich and Santorum would be good on foreign policy, not near as scary as having RINOS Romney or Perry or even conservative Bachmann on foreign policy.
Santorum and Gingrich and Bachmann would be good on economic policy and Romney and Perry would ruin this nation, economically.
Santorum and Bachmann would be good on social policy, Gingrich is questionable, but Romney and Perry are proven atheistic socialist secularist in policy, though strangely enough they “claim” to be religious and ethical privately...their public policies have clearly in opposition.
My choice is Santorum, Bachmann and Gingrich...in that order. I will never put my name on a vote for Perry or Romney.
Apparently, she wasn't paying attention in the 1990s when Newt pushed through welfare reform and when the first balanced budgets in decades occurred.
I'd love her to see name anything in the past 20 years Republicans have done that is as significant as that.
She isn't going to endorse anyone that doesn't have a clear path to the nomination. She won't risk her reputation to support a candidate way behind in the polls.
Since when is big government defined as welfare reform and a balanced budget? Not even Reagan was able to accomplish either of those feats.
I agree that Sarah Palin’s endorsement doesn’t mean nearly as much as it once would have, but anyone she endorsed would get a huge bump in publicity.
I hope it’s Perry. He’s more in line with her desire to re-make Washington.
And, if that "principled" approach results in four more years of Obama, say goodbye to second amendment rights as we know them, welcome gay marriage to all 50 states, enjoy Obamacare being entrenched as part of the healthcare system and expect religious freedom to continue to erode.
Apparently, you don’t know what Sarah has been talking about for the past year - she’s talking about the PPC (permanent political class) and the corruption in D.C involving the special interest and capital cronyism

imo, Newt is better than Romney, Paul or Huntsman, but he IS a moderate! He endorsed the Republican radical LIBERAL congressional candidate Dede Scozzafava in NY’s 23rd district (rather than conservative Doug Hoffman), and Newt calling Paul Ryan’s plan to fix Medicare “radical,” are just a few examples.
Newt is not a liberal, but no way is he a Tea Party type of candidate UNLESS the Tea Party has changed since 2010.
Yes, an endorsement by Sarah would be monumental. I guess what I was trying to say was she is positioning herself to gradually fade from the world of politics because of her family. She still has two young daughters and little Trig.I could be wrong but I pray for her and her family.
You forgot to add that if Obama is re-elected due to a RINO candidate the Tea Party will be forever destroyed.
