Didn’t watch the debate but he’s probably trying to attract the Trump supporters.

I hope Bachmann did well.

Did Newt blow up yet?

No, our tone-deaf candidate's stupid wager was not a gaffe because shut up, that's why.

It is 2008 all over again for the goofballs of Team Romney.

Romney’s done for. He’s only sticking around at this point to try to save face, pay down debt, and figure out if he wants to be a lobbyist or an analyst.

Good riddance.

He can keep running for president. He can aim his sights on 2016. He doesn’t have to stop. He’s like the Energizer bunny or something, isn’t he? LOL

Sorry, but Newt held his own, Michelle continued to attack her peers, Romney looked desperate, Paul managed to string together at least two coherent sentences, and Santorum bored everyone to tears. It looks like it may come down to Newt vs Perry.

"George Will, Peggy Noonan, Kathleen Parker, Charles Krauthammer and the rest of the Romney RINO pimps will be on damage control duty for the next week."

I can just see it on Brett Baier's show this coming week....
"Charles, what do you think about Romney's statement. Gaffe or not?"
"Because Romney was wagering such a high sum of money, it was a demonstration of his outrage at Perry's attempt to link Romney with Obamacare. But the outrage was measured, tempered, and not so much at the level of a six year old. Therefore, the only conclusion is that Romney should be considered the Republican nominee for president."

"what was the question they were betting on?"

Romney said his health care mandate was for his state and that he never meant it to be Federal. Perry said yes he did and that it was in Romney's first book. Romney said I will bet you $10,000 that it wasn't. I heard Romney make this $10,000 bet in another debate also. He throws out $10,000 like it was peanuts. there is no way he relates to the common person.

I think tonight is the beginning of the end for Mitt. Over time, he comes across as bloodless and weak. In the 2008 debates, he was asked if waterboarding or enhanced interrogation was OK. . . his response was that as president he would discuss with his lawyers and make a decision. Tonight he said he would ask the Israelis if was OK to say the Palestinians are an invented people. Same thing. . .weak and unable to take a strong stand on his own.

It’s a bit scary that I can read your script with Krauthammer’s voice.

The gop candidates are fools for participating in this debate. George S. is Rahm Emanual’s sock puppet. Now all we are going to hear about it the 10k bet. ABC, the head mouthpiece for Obama, wants to take the heat off of the economy and jobs.

ROFLMAO ! I can almost hear Charles' nasal infused tones as I write this.

But the average person doesn't know or care about that. I'm not thrilled that the liberals are hosting these debates either, but it really doesn't matter, because it gives the candidates a chance to demonstrate what everybody is looking for: leadership.

Make no mistake, that's exactly what it's all about right now.

Perry was talking about the changed wording from first edition of Mitt's book to the later one. It seems to me easy enough to look at Perry's copy of the book and compare. The gaff seems to be Romney bet Perry $10k that there was no change. Many people commented that $10k was 3 months salary for most and Mitt was out of touch.

Perry helped himself, Mitt's a goner IMHO, and it will be Newt in Iowa at least, if not more. Bachmann is done and Paul will keep his bots. Santorum may get a slight bump as he did OK.

For me the big moment was when the moderators asked about marriage commitment. They all went before Newt and said they believed character was an important trait for president and of course all were married to one spouse except Newt. Perry even said if you would break your vows to your wife, you would break your word with a business partner. Finally they got down to Newt. He said there were things he was not proud of and he had repented to his God and he is a changed man. I think they were expecting a comeback or some hand grenade, but he actually agreed that character was important and he has changed.

The talking heads started to think that it would have been easy to mention FDR had a mistress in the WH and of course he is a liberal god to them, Kennedy had Marilyn, and of course, Clinton had,.......well do we count the rapes or just the volunteers? It was a gotcha question to entrap Newt, but alas, it backfired.

They never laid a hand on Newt, IMHO. They even jousted over the Palestinian question and of course Newt taught history in college, so of course he was right. The talking heads tried to imply that Newt had made it harder on Israel by being inflammatory, but he just came back and said they are shooting rockets into Israel daily and have vowed to destroy Israel so how does the truth make it worse?

Newt wins!

BTW, if Perry keeps debating, he may get better. I give him a B+ tonight. He has money enough to stay in after Santorum and Bachmann go home.
