An old adage reads, "If it quacks like a duck, then it's probably a duck." The push by the Obama Administration to progressively strip Americans of basic liberties in the pursuit of political objectives has now taken on more draconian overtones, and no one seems to have noticed.
While the media quibbles over Romney versus Gingrich, the Occupy movement, and other diversions, President Obama continues to undermine law and order, dismantling the US Constitution piece by piece. When public officials seek to limit freedom, it can be concluded that these officials want to rule instead of govern. Cloaking seizures of power in clever misnomers does not validate the abuse of public office. What else can we conclude when Obama claims the illegal power to assassinate citizens at his whim? If citizen assassination were the only example of executive malfeasance emanating from Washington, Americans could breathe easier, except that citizen assassination, e.g. Awlaki, has opened the floodgates for a barrage of new power seizures. The ground softened, the first brick laid, Obama can now proceed unchallenged.
As I warned repeatedly in multiple articles over the last two years, the machinery put in place to thwart Islamic terrorism could be turned against citizens for political purposes, due to the broad constructions used in terror definitions. Only no one could have imagined the speed at which these things would come to pass:

Very good article. Tyranny of “security” and Griffing does not even mention the totalitarianism of “mandates” and other poison pills FORCED on “free people” in the last 100 years. Obama and his current republican bootlickers are just the latest and greatest examples. (Why even mention financial totalitarians, crony collectivists and other assorted Obama bundlers?)

Scarier is that we had a majority of GOP in the Senate vote in favor of the recent liberty-stripping bill. Most of the GOP is siding with Obama to take away our rights....that is the real fear
Truly a wonderful article that sums up why we are all feeling a vague sense of dread these days. America is fundamentally changing, RIGHT NOW. It never seemed possible that we would lose the freedoms our country was supposedly based on, but it appears it is happening in our lifetimes. I’m really not certain if there is any way to reverse the course at this point. The downside of freedom and wealth is that few people pay attention to the trends. They are happy with an SUV, Applebees, and a plasma 46”.
It is only when crackdowns occur that people will notice, and as with all modern dictatorships, it will require at least one full generation to throw off the yoke — unless, of course, modern technology has gamed the odds in a dictator’s benefit, then all bets are off.
If the dictatorship is brought to bear, and if it is even possible to throw off the shackles and bonds, then America will emerge a more freedom-aware place, but this will not happen for a long time. Our children will not quite live to see the re-emergence of freedom.
Where in the world can we go, to claim political asylum, if the last bastion of freedom — America — appears destined to fail?
I thought the article was too narrow, focusing only on what our government can do to us citizens. We are being hit by all fronts, the communist, the socialists, the anarchist, the drug lords, the Muzzies, the Mexican racist that think we are part of their country,
It didn’t mention anything about California’s two law system, one for Americans and one for invaders. The Americans that have to support the invaders.
It didn’t mention anything about the United Nations, their ability to tax our travel and tax everything that leaves and comes into our country. Tax our energy.
The United Nations and their ability to designate individual Americans as criminals.
The UN and their giving sanctuary in America to only Muzzies.
There was no mention of human trafficking by a third world country in our own country, the Obama’s administration’s approval of drug routes to Illinois. The money laundering of drug cartel money by the Obama administration. The intimidation by racists at the voting booth.
Our country is becoming a country of the divided.
This is not just an attack on American Citizens it is an attack on the wrong CLASS of citizens.
If you are part of the ruling elite you can never be accused or charged or even suspected of “terrorism”. If you a part of the “great un-washed”, live in fly-over country, or have the audacity to have an allegiance to God over homeland then you are at the very least expendable and probably suspect.

IF the SHTF, taking out some the many vocal underlings (take names) of these totalitarian wannabees will be easy and send the rest of the cockroaches scurrying. This article should be read by all Americans while we are still free. It will clearly show just how important the upcoming election is and that we only have one more chance to preserve our freedoms and lifestyles for ourselves, our children and their lineage.
After 2012, there will not be a second chance to impact the future for it will be sealed if we don’t get rid of Obama, his Marxist cabinet and appointees, his “stacked” Supreme Court and federal courts, his his lackeys (the GOP) and all who want to (and have) ignored the Constitution and the freedoms granted along with the restrictions of power of government.
It needs to be passed around for freedom loving Americans to read before we will be told what to read by the government.
