And rightly so.
You give me a break. I don’t celebrate Christmas because I’m not a Christian.Just because everything is closed it does not mean that it’s a holiday for the Jews,too.
No one forces me to celebrate Christmas. my family does because they are Christian and I am a convert to Judaism. I spend time with them but I don’t go to church.

Christmas is a federal holiday, non-Christians, atheists, pagans, etc. have a day off and don’t celebrate anything except for living in the greatest country in the world on one of that country’s federal holidays. It’s a great day to go see a movie, eat some chineese food and catch up on the laundry.
Fine. Just don’t stop the rest of us from celebrating it. I wouldn’t ever want to see Judaism and Jews denied theirs.
It the government were really serious about the ‘’separation of church and state’’ it would stay open on Christmas.
We have our liberal asses, and unfortunately, the can speak and vote. There ought to be a law against stupidity. That would eliminate most Democrats from voting or wrecking our schools and traditions.

I’ll skip Kwannza Hut and go for Greek Christmas, then Vietnamese Tet and Chinese New Year. Those groups know how to party and have great food.

I stumbled on an obituary for Robert Engel, a Jewish survivor of the holocaust. (Alan Barnes:Toronto Star. 1999). "Robbie" Engel was a driving force for 14 years for the Star's Christmas Children's Fund. He gave much of his time and effort. He said he got his reward by seeing the smiling kids.
Yoo Hoo. I am a Judaic type person my own self. Orthdox even. And there is no one in the whole wide world forcing me to celebrate anything. Is your faith so insecure that the mere sight of someone else celebrating challenges you?
Agreed. What I should have said in my previous post, was that the complainants were on a power trip. Giving their own people the reputation of being killjoys. I gave the examples of certain persons elsewhere of being simply a mensch about Santa.

What a stupid waste of goodwill by those parents. Having a Santa at school isn’t going to hurt their kids or turn them away from Judaism.

Stupid liberal Jews should keep their hands off Christmas and think more about Chanukah and Israel. These stupid Jews just make for Christian dislike of Jews flaunting their bs views. that’s one of the points, santa is more of an American cultural icon and the reason why it should be accepted by non-Christians, atheists and the like. I say what’s the big deal to pose with him at school for a picture, as a matter of fact, if you go on my facebook page there is me in a santa suit at a public school.

I’m saying the ‘’tyranny of the minority’’ rears it’s head in the form of a Jewish parent who evidently has a boring life or is very afraid of it and creates a bogus ‘’harm’’ where none had existed previously, confusing a secular icon seen in conjunction at a certain time of year that a particular Christian holiday is celebrated and suddenly it’s state-sponsered religion and so a little more joy and innocence for ALL kids is killed. And your rather dramatic ‘Christmas is forbidden for Jews’’ came cross as over the top and others on this thread apparently felt similar as I did.
Well,it is forbidden for Jews. We are forbidden from celebrating any Christian holiday. I’m all for Christmas. I’m not threatened by it.
