Experts not sure if woes, from hair loss to bloody lesions, tied to Fukushima nuclear plant.

Looks like it will be a self correcting problem.
Blood in the water will attract sharks, sharks will clean out the affected seals.
Sharks may die, or not, depending on the true cause of the sick seals.
Nature cleans up more efficiently than man does.
Too many seals around these days anyway, visit almost any west coast dock and view the damage for proof.

Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution will release their findings in mid February on samples and studies taken from the Pacific near and around Fukushima fallout. They already said since the melted reactors are still leaking radiation into the environment it will be difficult to quantify the collective damage as it is still adding up.
Heck with Iran going nuclear, North Korea already nuclear, along with the number of nuclear plants we currently have running that could be Tsunamied, we will probably be living with radiation for quite awhile.
At first the US was reporting fallout from Fukushima, at least universities were, State of Washington was getting heavy fallout at first. The snows in the California Sierras was full of it then it made it way to the east coast in certain areas esp. during storms then onward to Europe.
Then the EPA decided it wasn’t going to test sea water or collect air data for analysis, just about the time the head of GE went on the government payroll. Everything is hush hush now.
Japanese government wouldn’t even let imported Geiger counters past customs during the early stages of the meltdown. Then, Greenpeace was about the only source of readings from Japan and they had to be bootlegged onto Youtube. Arnie Gundersen got the bright idea to have Japanese volunteers send air filters from their vehicles for analysis. That showed Tokyo was a hot bed of fallout at the time.
Governments just playing coverup. Yes, Woods Hole is suspect but Greenpeace was the only other private researcher to try to do sampling and was runoff by the Japanese navy. That leaves Scripps Institute of Oceanography as a reputable researcher but haven’t heard much from them.
I forget which researcher(s) said fallout more than likely floated down to the ocean floor like snow where the food chain starts and normally thrives.

They have found significant contamination on the seafloor near Fukushima. And yes Greenpeace has an instrumental role to play, since this is an environmental catastrophe. But unfortunately, I have read a lot of tripe from that organization over the years also. According to them most of the Coral Reefs in the ocean should be dead soon due to Global Warming caused bleaching. They corrupted a lot of good scientists. But since Japan is a slightly capitalist nation, they will no doubt investigate as much as they can. It is just depressing reading tripe coming out from the leftists that insinuate nuclear power is a capitalist construct. Its as if the old Soviet Union and the old French socialists, never ever existed.

There were numerous seal fatalities on Cape Cod (MA) this summer. The rumor was that a virus was responsible.
I agree. Plus, if it were radiation, there would be fishes and other fishing eating mammals and sharks being killed too.

Good post. Imho, it could be radiation or a virus that’s killing the seals as there are not enough facts to determine the cause at this point...
That being said, you raise important points about how this whole catastrophe in Japan was handled not only by the Japanese, but by governments and official agencies world wide. A corrupt, calculated coverup and obfuscation of the facts.
