Iowa ethanol industry celebrates Romney-Santorum
Washington Examiner ^ | January 4, 2012 | Timothy P. Carney

..........."Romney and Santorum (like Gingrich and Obama) both go 4-for-4 on the ethanol lobby's scorecard. Paul goes 2-for-4 because he would cut oil subsidies and allow 15-percent ethanol blends to be sold, but opposes the mandate and other subsidies. Rick Perry went 0-for-4."

pointing out Santorums weak record is “tearing down” to you? Hope Ricky doesn’t have that thin a skin...he’s gonna get blasted off the map pretty quick.

Santorum is a mixed bag, like all of the candidates. That is the case 99 44/100ths of the time.

You can choose to focus on the negatives of an opposing candidate. Or you can choose to make the case for yours.

Nice slur, CW. It’s all you’ve got left. I can’t recall ONE TIME that you have posted in defense of the other candidates over the last few months when they are unfairly attacked. Because often times you are leading those attacks. Yet you are the first to complain when Perry is unfairly treated on a thread.

I stick to my own threads 98% of the time.

I’m not hard to find.

"Romney spent more there, and barely eaked out an 8 point victory, and did essentially no better than he did in 2008. That’s kind of a sleazy tactic."

I thought I'd point out that Romney "barely eaked[sic] out" a 8 vote victory out of 138,165 cast, which translates into a 0.0057% margin. If there had been a runoff (and there should have been) Santorum would have won easily. As it is, they still split the state's delegates, so Santorum came out fine. =)

I'm optimistic he'll place ahead of Romney in South Carolina, if not win it outright.

And how many of those threads bash other candidates? Should I do an inventory of your positive to negative threads over, say, the last week?

Like I said, you don't defend the other candidates against unfair attacks, as you often are the instigator for such.

"Sorry. I’ll support a successful big-state governor, veteran, farmer, with a clear, good record on conservative values and ideas anytime over a lame resume like that."

That's nice. On the other hand, in the debates Perry has shown nothing like the kind of wit and intellect needed to run this country.

I've heard he may have been on medication for his back problems. We'll see if he does well enough in upcoming debates to claw his way back into the top tier. It's very doubtful.

On the other hand, Santorum is a rising star. This speech convinced me. Please watch the whole thing. I'm convinced his ideas, background and personality can not only win the primary, but handily defeat 0.

Actions and one's record speak the loudest. Gov. Perry has a record of accomplishment and the Texas model.

Obama's got squat.

Thats a lie. Newt has been hammering Romney consistently from the moment he got in the race. Unfortunately CW, the majority of you Perry folks have gone after everyone except Romney. Your posting history alone is proof you’ve gone after candidates other than Romney the majority of the time. If what’s gone on here on FR is an indication of the overall Perry strategy, and I believe it is, no wonder Perry has done so poorly.

You, the krishna cultists, and the campaign have been nothing more than ankle biters hoping to peel away votes from other candidates instead of attacking the big dog, Romney.

Not so. Remember? Newt was the nice guy at the debates, saying anyone up here would be better than Obama -- only spent time picking on the moderators of the debates. Some say Newt behaves much like Ambassador Alan Keyes did generally speaking and in the debates.

I guess all those years supporting Palin were a waste of time (actually I've come to that conclusion lately).

You, the krishna cultists, and the campaign have been nothing more than ankle biters hoping to peel away votes from other candidates instead of attacking the big dog, Romney.

I can't hold a candle to the Jim Jones, led by the nose, "who's my candidate today" crowd.

No, you’d just rather live in denial by continuing to support a lower tier candidate who will only help Romney. You refuse to even a knowledge his pitiful campaign or where Perry went wrong. All you do is spin.

Keep your cult.

I’ll keep my conservative principles.

At the same time that the family received the subsidies, they were also working under the hassles and taxes that come from the Fed and its bureaucracy.

Don’t forget those wise words of Senator Phil Gramm:
“If we should vote next week on whether to begin producing cheese in a factory on the moon, I almost certainly would oppose it...On the other hand, if the government decided to institute the policy, it would be my objective to see that a Texas contractor builds this celestial cheese plant, that the milk comes from Texas cows, and that the Earth distribution center is located in Texas.”

Sincerely, DoughtyOne, please give up your dreams of Santorum. It’s not gonna happen.

Come away from the dark side and support Perry.

He has a much better chance and would be a much better president.
