Santorum and Gingrich see that their primary opponent is Obama.

Romney has always seen conservatives as his real enemy, and he and his minions have trashed everyone they see as a threat.

Romney is supported by the GOP’s professional politicals, which means that the GOP establishment sees conservatives as the enemy too. This is a civil war between the GOP membership and its parasitical party leadership class.

And notice LIBERAL Ron Paul is ANTI-Conservative.

Liberal Ron Paul and his surrogates NEVER bash ZERO.

Ron Paul voters are Democrat voters in disguise.

Ron Paul Voters HATE Conservatives.

Why is Ron Paul even on the stage? Ron Paul is obviously a Undercover Democrat. Ron Paul is DISGUSTING. Watch the debates.... Ron Paul NEVER bashes ZERO or ROMNEY. Nuff said. Ron Paul belongs on the Democrat ticket. RON Paul is a disgrace and that the media gives him a pass to pose as a Conservative is pure PROPOGANDA..

Newt's plan is nothing more than a stealth amnesty. Any illegal with an IQ over 25 can figure a way to secure amnesty between Newt's “establishing roots,” belonging to a church or a WWII-type neighborhood board composed of bleeding-heart liberals.

Actually, this is true. I like Newt and am supporting him. Or better said, he and Santorum are my two favorites left in the race.

And I would love to see Gingrich take on Obama, and overall I think he'll make a very good president (as will Santorum).

But you are right about his immigration stance, and if he is elected we will have our hands full keeping him on the straight and narrow. The same, in a slightly different way, would be true of any of the Repubs left in the race, whatever they say in the campaign. But as you say, Gingrich's plan has a loophole you could drive a milllion trucks through.

Rodguy, I have a son and daughter. They have given me 8 grandchildren. I have a wonderful wife I have been with for over 40 years. I am a vet and the from a long line of patriots. I also love my dog, my toys, my way of life and my 60 birds. ;>)

At this moment in our history, I can not think of anything much worse than Obama in office for another 4 years.

However, I simply can not and will not support baby killing Romney, for more reasons than I care to list.

Frankly, it’s all a moot point if Romney does get the nomination, because he will NOT win against Obama. He would put up a better fight than Santorum and not be eaten as quickly, but Obama, regardless of his deplorable record, remains a very capable fighter, with as much as a billion bucks in his war chest.

In other words, the very second that Romney wins the nomination, Obama wins the election.

If believe that if Newt fails to get the nomination, it’s over. I would love to be wrong.

I don’t disagree with much of what you say on immigration, but considering all of those left at the table, Newt remains our best option for the presidency.

a move experts say suggests that, for the Romney camp, Rick Santorum’s recent surge poses no political threat.

Yeah, right.

Some other possible explanations, from the point-of-view of the Romney campaign:

1. Newt is nastier and angrier than Santorum. A good offense is the best defense.

2. Newt is on the way down, it makes political sense to finish him off early.

3. Santorum is not nearly as vulnerable to negative advertising as Newt is. The ads against Newt just write themselves. In fact, no words are needed; just show pictures (Newt with Pelosi, Newt with Sharpton, Newt in front of Freddie Mac, etc.).

4. Newt has already announced that he is going to attack Romney. Therefore, he should be the focus of a preemptive attack or counterattack.

Those are some of the strategies the Romney people may be pursuing. Attributing the focus on Newt to "thinking Santorum is not a threat" may completely miss the mark.

These Fake commentators acting as if they represent the Conservative party need to be called out on Romney’s lack of support by Conservatives.

At a very minimum, Conservatives represent 25% percent of the voting population. Conservatives WILL NOT vote for Romney. The media needs to get in their face about acting as if Romney is electable when it is a false statement. Conservatives will VOTE against Romeny to show him he we are Anti-Romney. IN the Millions. We don’t care about RINO’s. RINO’s like Romney and Coulter need to shut it. Conservatives don’t like you. Deal with it and label yourself as a Liberal which you are.

Newt ought to challenge him to a duel.

I will be watching the debates tonight, I have a feeling he will tonight.

Romney has it coming too.

So far Newt has been taking it easy on Romney and pointing out his record.I believe tonight he will come down on him hard.

Gotcha and I respect everything you said.

Actually, the billion dollars he will raise, much of it illegal,is just the tip of the iceberg and a smokescreen more than anything else.

? He will and already has been using lots of budget money to buy votes with as well. And, that's where much of the damage gets done. He probably has somewhere between 15 and 20 billion at his disposal if truth were known. So when you see the media hype up the billion it just more deception.

You may be right. Romney may not have a prayer. Especially with Mittcare and his eligibility problems.

Just when we are getting zero into court as well!

Georgia will hear his eligibility pleadings the 26th. If we win it likely goes to the Supreme Court and you gotta wonder about other states as well. Last thing we need is yet another non NBC candidate.

Romney has such good organization and so much dough he's formidable. Just check any conservative or near conservative website. He's bought everything. He knows what he is doing, scary.

Forget checking conservative websites. Have you checked Huffington Post today? This morning STARWISE posted a NYT propaganda article about how extremely, wonderfully, super awesome Michelle Obama is and mojitojoe linked to the HuffPo version of the article for comparison. So I ventured over there.

I read a significant number of comments - and I do mean significant - from Huffies who claim they plan to vote for Romney. It didn't appear to be sarcasm. I can't image that many conservatives were able to get their comments posted. I assume they were libtards or independents.

Romney! He's apparently close enough to Obama in the libtards' assessment that he'll pull votes from Obama. That is what is scary. Not that I doubted him, but it confirms everything JR has said about there being little difference between the two.

That's a little unnerving. Until now, I assumed we were battling our own party elites in the Republican primaries. Now, I don't know what to think. I wonder if the libtards are serious enough to vote for Romney in our primary? I'm going do some research to see if this a real development or a fluke.

Thoughts?

I thought so too until I read an article at HuffPo. See my comment at #55.

That’s not the point. You said Newt hadn’t attacked Romney and of course he has. That is all.

If Newt does not use some of his money to fight back hard he’s toast. I’m just sick about it. He is committing suicide. We are going to end up with Willard just like the GOP elites want.

The problem goes way deeper then the entrenched progressives in the pubbie party. We Conservatives are made up of 2 distinct groups....economic and social (or some combination there of). We constantly split the vote between the two and the progressives know it....it’s how we let them win.
