Pope: homosexual ‘marriage’ threatens ‘the future of humanity’

VATICAN CITY, January 9, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – In his annual address to ambassadors to the Vatican today, Pope Benedict XVI warned that laws permitting abortion and undermining the traditional family are threatening “the future of humanity.” Speaking particularly of the West, the Holy Father said, “I am convinced that legislative measures which not only permit but at times even promote abortion for reasons of convenience or for questionable medical motives compromise the education of young people and, as a result, the future of humanity.”

Similarly, the pope spoke of “the family, based on the marriage of a man and a woman,” noting that it “is not a simple social convention, but rather the fundamental cell of every society.” He added: “Consequently, policies which undermine the family threaten human dignity and the future of humanity itself.”

Benedict noted the ‘dark times’ we are living in currently due to economic and social unrest. “The present moment is sadly marked by a profound disquiet and the various crises – economic, political and social – are a dramatic expression of this,” he said. “Truly the world is dark wherever men and women no longer acknowledge their bond with the Creator and thereby endanger their relation to other creatures and to creation itself.”

As a solution the Holy Father proposed keeping upholding the dignity and rights of the person.  “(I)t seems evident to me that the best way to move forward is through the recognition of the inalienable dignity of each human person and of his or her fundamental rights,” he said. “Respect for the person must be at the centre of institutions and laws; it must lead to the end of all violence and forestall the risk that due concern for popular demands and the need for social solidarity turn into mere means for maintaining or seizing power.”

Mirage is a blood covenant between a man and woman accomplished on the wedding night. Gay couples can never accomplish this.

I think you can leave Pope Benedict out of the blame loop here, because (contrary to what some people think) he does not have unilateral, dictatorial power over the Church; but in the case of Bishops, yes, the question: why don't they at least exclude pro-abort pols from Communion, which is required by Canon Law (Canon 915)?.

The pope appointed Cardinal Raymond Burke to the Apostolic Signatura (Catholic equiv. of the Supreme Court) and Burke said these pro-aborts MUST be excluded from Communion. Here's the ruling (Link); to spare you the chore of reading the whole thing, I've highlighted the word "must" for easy comprehension.

How Bishops can get away with violating Canon Law just floors me. It is the worst degree of deadly scandal and subversion.

The state should not dictate that children be denied either a mother or a father through homosexual marriage.

Please explain your statement more clearly or please give an example of what you mean. Thanks.

[ Think the rooms of clone troops and how they showed them being raised in Attack of the Clones (Star Wars 2). That is the best example I can provide. To the left, that is where they not only want to go, but the logical “next step.” ]

Very much in the vein of “Brave New World”

If similar tech comes about I think the right needs to fight fire with fire, we could put planned parenthood out of business in the process too.

Here is my plan.

The conservatives should covertly open up “abortion centers” (not really abortion centers) that are either free or that actually pay the woman wanting the abortion. (this will put PP out of business)

The Fetuses/ premature babies are extracted still living and placed in a growth acceleration / gestation tank. While they grow a special neural interface programs the growing children with the values and conscience of a conservative along with an individual identity and actually usable life skills to boot, Reading, Writing, and ‘Rrithmatic.

Identity papers are created and when the individual is release from the tank in a few months they sign an agreement to pay back tot he center for “saving them” this is seen as a “life debt” by the programming. Or they also help open more centers like this as a “life calling”.

Eventually we will outnumber them all 10 to 1 and those Liberal Professors who say we are a Democracy....

“THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE” as the saved children work to restore the Republic and kick the commie scum out of the country after we outnumber them 10 to 1.

If the Left ever gets “Clone Wars” tech then it should be easy enough to subvert it and use it to OUR advantage while saving the lives of children who would otherwise be murdered/aborted.

The Pope is a hater! Hate Speech! Hate Speech!

Of course, speaking obvious truth is now hate speech, so this should not be surprising.

(Cardinal) Burke said these pro-aborts MUST be excluded from Communion.

Hooray for the Cardinal. Finally someone within the Church who demands respect for doctrine. I hope Pelosi, et al are chastised loudly for their stance on abortion and on same-sex marriage (about which the Pope spoke). Respect for the Church, its leaders and doctrine is on the line. Simply denouncing something (or someone because they flaunt the Church's rules) is appeasement to the people who are immoral and uncaring about Church teachings.

Explain what? A State should not legalize homosexual marriage because then it would be codifying that children would be denied either a mother or a father. Not sure how to explain it more.

I propose to get the government completely out

Bad idea. The state owes recognition to marriage, first because it's a prior institution that existed before any state, and second, because marriage promotes social goals essential to the health of the state. For the state to de-privilege marriage (we're talking about REAL marriage here) would be a step backwards.

The headline quotes him saying something he didn’t say. Where in the first five paragraphs do the words “Homosexual Marriage” appear?

I agree with you 100%. It's a real battle right here inside the Church.

We will never give up! For Christ's sake! Never!
