JACKSON, Miss. — Outgoing Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour has pardoned at least four convicted killers who worked at the Governor's Mansion, including a man who was denied parole less than two weeks ago.

Relatives of three victims told The Associated Press on Monday that state corrections officials notified them over the weekend that the convicts were to be released this past Sunday. Barbour, a former chairman of the Republican National Committee who weighed a presidential run last year before deciding against it, leaves office on Tuesday.

Well... this is certainly odd. All of the murderers worked at the Governor’s Mansion thus they get a pardon because they were “good workers”. I guess the people they murdered weren’t “good workers?”

Why would they have murderers working at the Governor’s mansion anyway? There are any embezzlers or white collar thieves in their jails?

Lame.

3 are murderers. The 4th is ‘merely’ a repeat burglar according to the article.

2 of the killers murdered their wives. The 3rd murdered a man during a robbery.

1 of the wife killers shot her while she was holding their baby and also shot her friend in the head (he lived). He then left the kid there lying on top of it’s dead mother. He was just denied parole.

The other wife killer shot her in the back in public after an argument (he left and came back with a gun).

The crimes happened in the early 90’s. Just 20 years for 2 first degree murders.

It’s on Haley if any of these “diligent workman” hurt anyone else.

Sad thing to see a losing governor throw such a reckless temper tantrum.

“... any embezzlers or white collar thieves in their jail”.

I am guessing that the Governors Mansion already had plenty of those... Maybe he wanted some “diversity” so he chose cold blooded killers. (/s tag...)

Haley obviously is not going to run for any kind of political job again.

I think this is outragous to let any murderer back out on the streets......... But, I have to correct you.. he did not lose, he did not run this time...he could not run again...he served his two terms.

Ah, I see.

But it still would appear to be some form of tantrum, an act of defiance against the social norms “just because”.

What is it about our southern governors: Haley of SC, now Haley of MS? They are just too “compassionate” and probably trying to snare uninformed Democrats to their side.
