In what could lead to a big reorganization of the federal government, the Associated Press reports that President Obama will ask Congress for the power to merge departments and agencies to help streamline government and improve efficiency.
The president's first priority would be combine the trade and commerce departments, according to a senior administration official.
The president would request fast-track consolidation authority that would allow him to propose agency mergers that would then be subject to an up-or-down vote from Congress within 90 days. Under the terms of the president's proposal, lawmakers would still need to grant the president the the fast-track authority and approve each of his proposals.

Reagan's name was mentioned. I wanted to scream.
F***You Barry!
Fooling some of the people all of the time.
“The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away...”
...not eliminate, but grow. All BS
You think his first four years were great, wait until the second four because it will be much better that damn liberal republican (insert name here)... We all better stay home this November to show how displeased we are.

Election season is here - Obama has to run as a Republican again!
And the GOP is here to help!
He’ll merge FEMA, with its broad powers of abuse of our freedoms, with the Military.... and voila, he’ll have unspeakable control.
Smoke and mirrors moving the shells around, look at me Im working for the MIDDLECLASS FAMILIES! ...............%$#^&^%%$@@#$%&&^&^&&^^%%%^^^&^&^&%^%$%$^$#$@#%$#$#$#%$##@$*&*&(*&(
Starting with the czars, DOMA, no budget, amnesty....They are just as much to blame for Obama power grab. Precedent is set each time he pushes beyond legalities with no check to his actions.
Even so, at first glance I’m inclined to agree with this move.
It’s unlikely that the general public would realize any real benefit from such a move for at leat 6-9 months...so I don’t think it would save 0bama’s butt in time for the general election. But if Republicans oppose, they would be painted as being for big government.
Of course, the devil is always in the details. Also, if I were Congress, I’d make this move contingent to passing the FIRST BUDGET in nearly 1000 days. Put it right back in their lap.
More like obama is asking for power to do what ever the hell he wants to do.
This is pretty audacious given that he is running for pres again, but with his media actively campaigning for him, this kind of information won’t go very far.
And the charlie brown congress will attempt to kick the football again.
Here we go again.
He’s the one who wasted taxpayer money and grew the government Abe the debt. He thinks he can pass himself off as being Reaganesque. The audacity. Republicans have so much to use against this guy. Wait until game time and imagine the commercials we can make against the “middle class warrior”.
Listen to this line from the Ben Feller butt kissing article:
“The White House said the problem is serious for consumers who turn to their government for help...”
By the way, Hussein promised to FIX this NEARLY A YEAR AGO! In his last State of the Union Lie Festival, he said he would work on needed reorganization. Now, at the beginning of an election year, he suddenly gets religion.
I guess all those golf games got in the way of his Reagan-esque plans.
