The TEA Party of Florida endorsed Newt Gingrich in the Florida presidential primary, saying the former House speaker has "articulated direct and serious steps designed to reduce spending, cut our deficits, pay down our national debt, and return liberty to our citizens in doing so."
Reconstituted from the party whose candidates garnered 310,000 votes in 20 races in 2010, TEA is pursuing a broader outreach strategy this year.
Chairman John Long said that in addition to fielding its own slate of candidates, the party plans to endorse like-minded candidates from the major parties in other selected races.
"People ask us, 'Who is the TEA Party?' and we say, 'You are,'" Long stated.
"When you speak out against out-of-control spending and officials that refuse to act responsibly with our money, you are the TEA Party.'"
The 310,000 votes received by TEA (Taxed Enough Already) candidates in 2010 was the third largest total of any party in the state.
I really wish this debate would focus on the issues instead of Newt said this then and Newt says this now stuff.
Romney knows that Newt knows policy much more than he does. He’ll want to stick to the attacks on Newt and attack Newt from the right. Then if Romney wins the nomination he’ll probably attack Obama from the left (if there’s enough space to stand without falling off the edge).
I guess we’ll see.
Romney has NOTHING good to say about his own record (to a conservative audience anyway). How many times can he repeat the fact that he made a 10% investment in Staples back in the ‘80s? He pretty much had nowhere to go but to come out swinging with some kind of negative attacks. I’m disheartened that it seems to have worked well enough to flip the poll position. I just can’t believe how quick people are to believe a negative attack just because someone says it without doing the fact checking on their own first.
Thx for posting that. That is super news! Thank you Tea Party of FL!!!
I doubt anyone can count on the Establishment, the Romoney Repubs, supporting Newt if he gets the nomination. I am certain they would rather lose the election than have their gravy train derailed by allowing a conservative to be elected.
Trump is O’s ace in the hole, he will deploy when called to.
I agree

Good for you, wtt.
Have heard good things about the power of you patriots in Fla.!
Man the canons, mount the horses, sharpen the blades!
The endorsement is great, BUT, are they going to campaign for him? Mail out brochures? Rally the TEA Party Troops? Will they do anything besides just “Endorse”???
Anybody know the answer to these questions?
I think this is a moot point now. RINO-Rom beat Newt in the Debate tonight like a borrowed mule. Newt looked old and tired and Romney beat him on every turn. Rick Santorum was great in the Debate. He’s our only hope to stop Romney now.
Bump!
Thank you trisham!!
Then we've lost. Rick has no money or organization. Buddy Roemer and Fred Karger probably have bigger war chests.
I’ll be casting my vote early on Saturday in Brevard County, Florida for Newt. Come on Space Coast !!!!! Woooooo Hooooooooo !!!
bttt
Newt should use some strong black tea to dye his hair with, just for this!
Its a Civil War in the GOP—Lounge lizard Republican elites vs. the Tea Party patriots. One side has money—the other passion. Who will win? Its anyone’s call but I think the establishment has been pulling in all their markers to get a Romney victory. Support Newt—if he fails in Florida—let him win in Nevada! Don’t Give Up!
