'Birthers' Nonsense Sets Georgia Up For Ridicule -- Again
Columbus (GA) Ledger-Enquirer ^ | January 27, 2012

Posted on 01/27/2012 6:53:39 AM PST by transducer

We will risk the fairly safe assumption, as this is being written, that Air Force One did not make an appearance at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport sometime Thursday....

You almost have to laugh at this latest chapter in the seemingly endless “birther” saga, because about the only alternatives at this point are tears and/or nausea.

It was embarrassing enough when members of the Georgia legislature -- including, to Columbus’ acute humiliation, two members of the local delegation -- drafted a “Presidential Eligibility Assurance Act” in the last legislative session.

Now Georgians get to enjoy the added spectacle of their secretary of state, Brian Kemp, warning the president (let that sink in -- warning the president) through a White House attorney that failure to appear in a Georgia court would be “at your own peril.”...

Peach Pundit editor Charlie Harper, in a blog published this week in the Savannah Morning News, wrote: “This is a mistake. We are taught from a young age that we will be judged by the company we keep … The birther argument transcends disagreements of policy and politics and spirals into pure nuttery.” How true.

Georgia, no thanks to some judgment-impaired officials and certainly without the consent of the governed, has been slumming in the Orly Taitz nuttery neighborhood way too long. Please, for the sake of the state’s already battered image, let’s just quietly tiptoe out of this putrid political ghetto and back to the daylight side of town before we attract any more ridicule....

If there is an actual fact-based dispute about eligibility, the Electoral College (which casts the actual votes) and Congress (which certifies the vote outcome) are responsible for settling the matter. This court has no jurisdiction.

For you “journalists” to see this as nonsense turns around that “ridicule” vector.

Perhaps it takes a bit more than bottom-of-the-IQ journalism classes to detect multi-layered scanned documents with wrong names, different fonts, and out of sequence numbers.

There’s a reason you newspaper jocks are headed for the Obama food stamp and unemployment company.

Good riddance...and whilst you’re there, you might take a few classes in something that requires intellectual discipline...like computer science, physics, maths...etc.

Before you get the zot, I’d like to try and educate you.

The Georgia case is about whether or not Obama meets the definition of a Natural Born Citizen, which our SCOTUS has in the past determined to mean mommy and daddy were US citizens.

Obama does not meet this requirement.

See - I didn’t even have to speculate on where he was born.

And yes, little old Georgia can threaten to keep Obama’s name off of he ballot. The fact that he is already president does not remove their obligation to enforce their own laws. As stupid as that sounds, this is what Obama’s attorney argued.

Not so (see United States v. Wong Kim Ark.

Every State determines elegibility of the candidates on the State ballot. If you don’t understand simple facts you shouldn’t be calling other people crackpots. Of course I don’t think you are going to be around here long enough to be educated on the facts of the case.

Welcome to FR.

If Obammy actually responded to the suit, instead of having a default judgement entered, you wouldn’t have anything to whine about.. would you?

300 million Americans, and the Democrats chose to run someone with a questionable and mysterious life history?

Why didn’t they find someone without baggage and with legitimate documentation? Are all Democrats with real histories too tarnished?

Every President has a constant barrage of frivolous lawsuits from people claiming that the CIA poisoned their begonias or some damn thing. Obviously, no President is going to respond to these actions — it would be a waste of time and would undeservedly dignify loony-tune attention whores.

TROLLAPALOOZA ,,,, You are making a fool of yourself here and as for the hearing yesterday in Georgia goes ,,, a lot of strong evidence has finally gotten placed on the record regarding the bamster’s eligibility . Fraudulent BC , SS# and the fact 0’s father was a Kenyan citizen by 0’s own admission all now finally a matter of the record . The bamster as a result of running from this problem will now not be allowed on the Geo. ballot in the General election . One down 11 more to go . So put that in your crack pipe troll a pull real hard . This could all be put to rest quickly once and for all but for some strange reason 0bama continues to hide behind a veil of suspicion that will never go away because he is a usurper in chief .

I see that you haven’t actually answered the question.
Why does Barry have a social security number from Connecticut when he never lived there?
Why is everything about him hidden, shrouded, obfuscated?
And you cannot say that it isn’t.

Again, if he’d actually responded to it, i.e. had his lawyer appear, you wouldn’t have anything to whine about, would you?

This court has no jurisdiction.

The State of Georgia has complete jurisdiction over who is allowed on the ballot for their state primary.

You are WRONG!

The founders themselves made a distinction between a mere citizen and a natural born citizen in the same sentence of the Constitution IE "No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Wong Kim Ark only deals with citizenship. Mr. Ark is NOT a "Natural Born" Citizen, neither is BHO, and NO court has ever said they are!

I notice that the “concern troll” hasn’t replied to any comments yet.

I also noticed that the article that was linked was full of strawmen. Set up a bunch of kookie conspiracy theories and imply that your opponent holds to those theories,

and don’t actually address the substance of the argument.

1) The hardcopy of 0bama’s supposed birth certificate is under seal in Hawaii. If the scan provided last year was an actual scan of the hard copy, why keep it sealed?

2) 0bama’s father was not a US citizen, therefore, little Barry is not a natural born citizen and is therefore not constitutionally qualified to be president.

Now, if some leftist wants to argue that we should ignore this qualification, hop to it.
