A woman plans to marry a partially demolished building in Seattle on Sunday.
Even though cranes have already started demo work at 10th and Union Warehouse, Babylonia Aivaz reports "I'm STILL Getting Married."
"Yes, I'm in love with a 107 year old building!," writes Aivaz on the wedding invite page on facebook.
The event will be a community potluck on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Aivaz writes that her relationship with the building began when she and a group of around 200 occupied the warehouse claiming it as a community space.
"The warehouse is slated to be demolished in a week to make way for luxury apartments whose destiny is to disintegrate our unique creative culture and render our neighborhood even more unaffordable. Why couldn't we have had a community artspace and museum there instead?" writes Aivaz.
Community members are invited to the event, and asked to bring food.
"Lets be together! Lets honor my love of this building and Capitol Hill, the idea of transformative power of community spaces, and each other," writes Aivaz.
The Washington State legislature is currently considering gay marriage.
Captial Hill is homo central in Seattle.
I “dated” a woodpile once /sarc
Have fun at the consummation, you nutjob.
So if you go to the building and injure yourself on one of the old conveyor belts can the “spouse” be held liable?
Doesn’t that mean that the building would have preferred a man?
Otherwise, the LGBTers don’t need the “L” anymore.
LOL. I love it!
Quite a smart tactic, actually. What politically correct Seattle politician will dare to say her Nay?
And Christine Gregoire would never get re-elected if she opposed this marriage! No amount of ballot-stuffing would suffice!
when she sits around the warehouse, she really...
Use this to destroy the gay marriage debate. It proves once again that gay marriage is a sham and allows the door to open to all sorts of perversions.
This reminds me of the story about the woman who “married” the Berlin Wall-

At least she referred to it as her “husband”.
Looks like she was made back when meat was cheap.....
“So if you go to the building and injure yourself on one of the old conveyor belts can the spouse be held liable?”
I’m guessing Yes....

The B stands for “Building”
In this day and age, it is no small thing to have the Insane Vote locked up so early in the process.
Exactly. Some people need sarc tags or laugh tracks to get it, in a fuzzy way. This is an effective and amusing dig.
Sounds like she’s illustrating absurdity by being absurd.
Shear poetry. (intentional malapropism)
