Jerry Sandusky, accused of child sex abuse, will be in court soon asking a judge to modify the terms of his bail so he can see his grandchildren.
Sandusky, 68, was charged in November with abusing 10 boys over 15 years, many of whom he met through his charity, The Second Mile.
As part of a bail agreement that keeps him out of jail but on house arrest, Sandusky is not to have any contact with kids, including his grandchildren.
His attorney, Joe Amendola, has said that family members are among those that brought accusations against the former Penn State defensive coordinator. It's unclear if those investigations led to any charges.
The request says many of the 11 grandchildren have expressed sadness that they can't communicate with their grandfather, and asks that Sandusky be permitted to visit with them at his College Township, Centre County, home as long as one of their parents is present. The request, filed by his attorney Friday, also asks that he be allowed to talk on the phone, by text, or Skype with them.
The motion also requests that Sandusky be allowed to visit with friends at his home, and travel to meet his attorney and private investigators to work on his case.
The hearing has been scheduled for 10 a.m. Feb. 10 at the Centre County Courthouse.
The judge assigned to the case, John Cleland, has also given prosecutors until Feb. 3 to answer a different request by Sandusky's attorney for the names, addresses and ages of the accusers, along with exact dates and locations of where each alleged assault outlined in the grand jury presentment took place.
The Feb. 10 hearing will also address that issue.
Sandusky has been loudly (too loudly,IMHO) maintaining his innocence and has said repeatedly that he can’t wait for his date in court. There’s also a lot less flight risk from Centre County than from the Delaware valley.
I guess he hasn’t raped enough children yet... he needs more meat for the grinder. Only an idiot would grant his request. The man is a serial pedophile rapist.

In a just world, pedophiles would not be able to keep ruining children for years the way this sick fiend has done. And once a pedophile is discovered, justice would be swift and permanent.
I pray that this judge is not an idiot, but many are. I suppose we’ll find out soon enough whether Sandusky gets even more privileges than being allowed to be on house arrest instead of being in jail like average citizens would be in the same circumstances.
The creep has already admitted to taking a young boy into the showers in a men’s locker room and having intentional contact with him. Y’all can debate the semantics of that while pervets like him continue to ruin kids lives. I say string him up now and get it over with
My point was that two men involved in the case were treated differently by the press:
Sandusky -- took boys into showers and had illegal physical contact.
To my thinking, his name has not been in the press as much as it might have been. To some extent, people are withholding judgement. His case is working through the system, and we will eventually see what the outcome is. For me, this is surprisingly gentle treatment.
Paterno -- heard about the incident and reported the incident.
Tried immediately in the court of public opinion. Found guilty. Fired, humiliated. Became a household name for crimes against humanity. Hounded to death. Legacy forever tarnished by the unspeakable nature of his crimes. For me, this is surprisingly harsh treatment.
My opinion:
Sandusky, like all child molesters, should be executed.
Paterno, should have done more. But he's not a child molester. Why did we treat him worse than the actual child molester?
I think this case shows the Leftist culture in our society -- successful guy? Winning football coach? Let's destroy him and watch the people cheer as the mighty fall! We hate successful people and want bad things to happen to them.

Sandusky is clearly the #1 villain here. But just because Sandusky's the homosexual pedophile doesn't mean others (living and dead) didn't play some part in the long story. Let's face it - another 'alleged' victim came forward to say he was raped by Sandusky in 2004 in the Lasch building (the Penn State football building), and Sandusky gave him Penn State football national championship memorabilia afterward. That's 2004. After the 2002 "McQeary saw him" incident and after PSU told him he couldn't bring children on campus but admitted it couldn't enforce the ban.
12,000 people attended the campus memorial service for Joe Paterno.
At the service, Joe's son Jay said:
"Joe Paterno left this world with a clear conscience."
12,000 people gave Jay Paterno a standing ovation for that comment.
They still don't get it in Happy Valley. Apparently Joe Paterno still didn't get it. It's a cult. Child victims? What child victims?
The same 12,000 people and Joe Paterno's widow, Sue, gave Phil Knight a standing ovation when he said:
"This much is clear to me: If there is a villain in this tragedy, it lies in that investigation and not in Joe Paterno's response."
What do you want to bet that every single moms and dads will make sure they’re present in the very same rooms during the visits? At least they should...
