Settle down Grasshopper. The Mo. primary is irrelevant, it has no more relevance than a poll. The decision will be made by caucus later on. Newt will be participating in the caucuses.

Quinnapiac? Really?

I've had better predictive results with a coin.

-- When did we give the power to nominate our President to an elite group? --

When you study the short history, the question becomes "when did the elite group give the power to nominate the president to the people?"

The first party primary elections were in the 1910's.

Universal suffrage, a bad thing in my opinion, is something the country's political system evolved to - but did not start with.

Haven’t given up at all.

I know who Newt Gingrich is.

Right now I am supporting Santorum at this point in the primary, I don’t agree with everything he does or wants to do but he definitely is the most honest and focused on the primary problems facing our country. As a Christian and a Conservative I think we need to support the candidate that meets our morals, ethics and principles.

I don’t have to worry at night when I go to bed on what decisions he will make when I am asleep.

However whomever the GOP nominee ends up being I will support.

I think it is silly to be ALL IN 3 weeks or so into a 33 week primary run. Why are we having primaries?

I never asked Jim to ping me...he did it in response to me pointing out the unpleasant things about Gingrich, he then asked me to stop posting anything negative about Gingrich, that he, Free Republic supports Gingrich and that’s it and he wasn’t going to allow discussion otherwise.

I think it is a mistake. It’s Jim’s sandbox but something has changed this time around this really isn’t the Jim that I have known for many years.

What frustrates me about this is so many people are led by the nose by what they see on TV. All the negative adds full of lies and yet it swings the polls in the other direction.

If Newt loses Tuesday, the other states don’t matter, the meme will have been set, and the money will dry up.

It seems Newt is barely scraping by as it is. I'm in Florida and I swear I see and hear five Romney ads for every Gingrich one.

Thank you for your nice genteel reply.
Can’t help wondering whether you’re a Native Floridian or Yankee transplant. At any rate, have a nice forever.

don’t assume Gingrich will do well in the caucus...

I didn't say that he would.

I just explained what the situation was to somebody who didn't understand. I made no claim one way or the other.

Indeed, I have no candidate yet. I don't intend to make a decision until I have to cast my ballot, in the Texas primary. I know, however, that it won't be for Romney. And it won't be for Paul.
