New Dixie Strategies Poll Of 2,567 Likely Voters Has Gingrich Up By .38% In Florida Primary

Dixie Strategies/The News-Press/First Coast's new poll has almost 2,600 likely voters. Gingrich is up by .38%. He leads Romney 35.46% to 35.08%. Santorum is in third with around 9%.

Almost 2,600 likely voters makes this a gigantic poll and super accurate as well.

How are they able to get two decimal points of precision on 2,600 voters?

Yeah, their stated margin of error is +/- 1.93 points. I've never seen poll results stated to two decimal places. I think someone has a little too much faith in his whiz-bang statistical calculator.

We feel the same way about you and those you support. And we feel the same way about Obama.

And we’ll continue to feel that way about all of you in the general election.

Without us, your candidates cannot win.

That’s horrible neck to neck. He should be up by at least 20%. What part of a romneycare and gay marriages mindset do these Floridians like?

Santorum has said again and again he is in it for the long run, and will prevail in the end

He won't prevail and his legacy won't be pretty for his kids to live with. If Newt drops for any reason, finally Santorum will be vetted properly - he will then have his 'Bloody Thursday'. His self righteousness is truly blinding him.

-—”Old poll. This was conducted before Newts disasterous debate performance Thursday.”-—

Disasterous? Bah! Wasn’t his best performance, but he did just fine.

And the rolling average polls all show no movement or a slight uptick for Newt, including the days since the debate.

I don’t think that debate hurt or helped anyone in any significant way. Santorum’s potential gain is offset by the fact that everyone in Florida heard he was abandoning the state (even though he now says he’s coming back). Romney’s potential gain was offset by being busted on his treachery by every voice a Conservative voter would be listening to.

It’s s tight, two-man race. The only question is whether the Santorum voters in FL understand politics as much as they portend to do when explaining away Rick’s non-Conservative moves.

Question for you: I know there are Paul supporters on FR. Are there any in FL, and if so, any chance they make the strategic vote for Newt in much the same way Virginia Newt backers are making the strategic vote for Paul there? Or is that just off the table for Paul supporters?

Just curious.

It’s a dead heat...

I'll report it like liberal would: "Newt surges to unbeatable lead in Florida..."

There certainly are Paul supporters in FL. I’m in CA, but I would assume that many Paul supporters in FL would be willing to cast a strategic vote for Gingrich in the FL primary.

Being an open Ron Paul supporter validates further the virtues of the natural law intent of the Founders. Just as being any openly outside the mainstream political follower not only validates but complements the God blessed recordings of them.
They were so smart yet they had the naive belief that their progeny would not use the freedoms they codified to destroy both their lifes’ work and themselves.

Paul and Mitt are cult leaders divorced from the soul of the US Constitution through clever sophistry—one by slyly perverting the intent through narrow regressive strangulation and the other by some religious brainwashing that demands the ghosts of Brigham Young and Joseph Smith rule the world.

Paul,Mitt and Obama are who America needs least to survive as the nation the Founders loved and gave us.
But all who support all three exceed in paralogisms so we may be already damned to the camps but just don't know it yet.

Interesting to hear. Wonder if they will.

I know that there is now a litany of Newt folks in VA prepared to make the strategic vote for Paul. I would not be surprised if the next poll there shows Paul ahead in Mitt just because of that.

Might be pointless if Florida and Super Tuesday pump Mitt too much, though.

Palin should drag it out and endorse one state at a time. Just use that line that she’s still assessing the candidates and wants things to continue. Or if Newt’s ahead in delegates, say that so far Newt seems to be the best but she wants the vetting to go on. By endorsing one state at a time, she gets maximum media exposure.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if the GOP establishment Romney rectum dwellers in Virginia were thwarted in their wicked plans to sell their souls to the mendacious Mitt with a RuPaul landslide?

It would be delicious!

Go Paul (in Va only of course) !

I have to believe there is no love for Newt either in the democrat base. They have hated Newt ever since the 1994 election.

It will be the same for *any* Republican. The Dem base will never vote Republican.

How does he do that in all states unless it is a Federal mandate? Makes no sense.
