Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich was joined by President Ronald Reagan's son Michael on Monday morning in Jacksonville, Florida. Michael Reagan is supporting Mr. Gingrich for the presidency and helping Mr. Gingrich fend off critics who say that the former speaker did not have a politically close relationship with his father.
"One of the reasons I was glad Michael agreed to come on is that theres been a question raised by the establishment as to whether or not I was really in any way active with Ronald Reagan," said Gingrich to a group of supporters in meeting room at the Jacksonville Hyatt Regency. "And I figured if his son was prepared to campaign with me, for any person with an open mind that should settle that issue once and for all."
Mr. Reagan explained to the audience why he endorsed Speaker Gingrich saying, "I think I owe it to him, because of what he has done for the Republican Party over the years," he said. "I remember way back in the 1980s during the Reagan revolution and I also remember there was a 1990s, when he delivered to us the first Republican majority in over 40 years no one else who has ran for office has done that."
Conservative movement activists, writers, and leaders, some of who had worked with President Reagan, have written scathing articles in various publications or appeared on television have denounced Mr. Gingrichs political favorability with President Reagan, including Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, and Elliott Abrams.
"It doesnt concern me, but yeah, it does. The way theyre attacking Newt Gingrich and cherry picking to be able to attack him, I worry if those people would have supported Ronald Reagan today," Michael Reagan told me...

Ger those senior votes and Jewish votes down there.
Ask them if they really want to pay higher taxes for euthanasia, abortion, etc. in Romneycare.
Obamacare vs. Romney care, is there a difference?

Romney and his supporters are now pushing RomneyCare as a conservative, free market, states rights solution to healthcare.
RomneyCare = ObamaCare in all respects. It is not free market, it is not conservatism and it is not states rights.
On the Mark Levin show just prior to the break at 6:30 pm he played a clip of Romney at the signing of his RomneyCare bill. Guess who he singled out for recognition as someone who had worked behind the scenes on Beacon hill to get the new heatlcare law passed?
None other than, as Romney stated, HIS FRIEND Ted Kennedy!
Devastating rant from Levin about this.
It is awful to think that Ron Reagen would dishonor his father by participating in such an evil lie, even he though he is very liberal. But then I remember reading how much William Buckley disapproved of young Ron, so I suppose it is possible. But still, it is heartbreaking to think that he could.
I was there & it was great. A 16 yr old volunteer with the campaign skipped his am history class to be there. It was a rally mostly for the volunteers. Also the ads here in FL are just awful. 3 to 1 negative ads from Mitt’s camp.
Great motto, katie.
I’ll add, “Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition”.
A friend of mine is in Ground Zero Jacksonville(flew in to help the Newt campaign) and said that the vicious Romney attack machine is disgusting and people are shocked at the level of vitriol and lies.
When!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
These jackasses are clueless and think that humor and Bob Beckel make for a show to replace Beck's spot??????.
I watched a few shows but couldn't stand it!
All kinds of alarms should be going off in voters minds when Soros basically endorses Romney. Newt should make that a commercial to get the word out.
Michael Reagan was here in Pensacola today. He spoke highly of Newt’s relationship with his father. He also praised Newt for all the fund-raising he had done since he was Speaker and how his organization had made accessible many thousands of addresses for the fledgling, TEA Party when they were needed.
There was a large turnout of enthusiastic Newt fans. I was interviewed by NPR and enjoyed telling them just what I thought about Romney and the Republican elite.
